Roman Empire- Capitalistic or Socialist
Dennis Prager says capitalism was ONLY system to EVER bring people out of poverty?! I don’t think most Romans were in poverty (I mean relative to the technology point in time). But I’m not really sure what they are classified? I know they had money and trade? And poverty is really somewhat subjective- is it starving? Is it not owning property? Someone help me out.

Hard to answer this question without writing a whole book (in France the roman empire is one of the most important things we study), but the answer can be summed upp to: -During the monarchy: a bit early to tell -During the republic: socially left wing, economically right wing -During the empire: three periods: 1) capitalist 2) "soft" socialism 3) hardcore communist dystopia Side: Capitalism
