I'm an extreme libertarian and originally liked Ron Paul; then I realized a few things. He believes that if you're injured and have no medical insurance, you should just try to find some church that will help you.
What?! He's actually so anti-government that he's actually forcing people to go to a church for medical care?! A church? What if that persons beliefs conflict extremely with that church (perhaps they're an Atheist).
Ron Paul is simply the candidate. In my eyes, there is no other candidate. I will be voting for him in the primaries, and if he is not on the general election ballot, I will not vote because I don't care then because all the candidates are the same including Obama.
Ron Paul is my favorite candidate by far. A lot of people don't know about him and I think that is one of many reasons why he is having trouble gaining more popularity.
As for your debate question, it’s really hard to answer. If he does get the GOP nomination, he will be in more of a spot light and people can then see what he’s all about. But there will also be a heap of rhetoric aimed at him from the other side to try and make him out to be evil.
I find it hard to believe he would get the GOP nomination though, he is a libertarian through and through, but he ran in ’08 to now as republican because he knows as well as most informed citizens that keeping an independent party member from being nominated is the one thing that the two-party system will come together on. So most people in the country (assuming the statistics are true about how little people read the news or get involved in politics) may not know about libertarian Ron Paul, but the current people in office, both Dem and Rep will most likely sleep together before they let him win the GOP.
This is a damn shame if you ask me. I love Ron Paul, and I think he would make a lot of great changes to the way things are done in this country, but I have to face the facts and accept that this country is not for the people by the people, it never really was although it was intended to be through the constitution. It’s for the rich and by the rich, and that’s the way civilizations have been for millennia unfortunately.
Perhaps in his campaign, Ron will bring a lot of attention to himself so that if his more charismatic son Rand runs for president, people will remember the name and support him.
You'd like to Gingrich who called for illegal co-vert action to be taken agaisnt other countries, and then said; "its ok, its all completely co-vert, and completely deniable"
And Hermain Cain, come on, he barely knew Libya was a country even though his own is currently at war there, how do people like this get into a psoition where they can contest for one of the most pwoerful positions in the world, its truly frightening for outsiders to watch these republican GOP debates.
Do you have any idea how crazy these candidates seem, everyone except Ron Paul seems like an absolute nutcase, he is the only real republican candidate offering anything different, all the others were bought up along time ago, their souls being kept in jars in safe rooms controlled by Goldman Sachs and alike.
I personally say hell yes i dont even think Ron Paul is republican he seems independent to me and he is the Republicans party only shot at winning. I love his views and he believes we are not the worlds baby sitter
He also wants to make it that people who lack insurance must visit a church for medical care and hope for the best.
No, he does not want to make those who lack medical insurance visit a church to ask for medical care. He says that the church is one of many resources which are available to those in times of need.
He thinks the age of consent should be non-existent.
What's wrong with that is the fact that older men will have sex with 12 year old girls, who, despite being pubescent, are not mentally capable to make a decision to have sex. It would be so easy for them to pick up some girl with no parents or parents who don't care.
Hehe, and you call yourself a Christian! Or, if you aren't, don't fuck me because I guessed your religion incorrectly.
Look at those morals!
Ron Paul has caused so much momentum because all of his ideas sound good! They really do!
But, then of course, the age of consent decriminalization must come up.
Oh, he's so against raising out taxes, yay! Oh, wait.. Who's going to pay for the millions of drug users that will abuse drugs on a daily basis due to their legalization?
If you're sick and have no health insurance, you literally have to go to some sort of church to get help or you're literally fucked.
No governmental role in the economy? Sounds great! Oh, shit. An oil tycoon from the Middle East came in and purchased every single store and every acre of land in (insert town here). Once a business owner sees dollar signs, he/she fucking jumps right in, not even acknowledging the risk that, oh, I don't know, you all might be slaves because you sold yourselves. Who wants to stop people from coming in and buying everything? The government.
Ron Paul is very unclear on some of his viewpoints. He believes that it's okay to terminate a pregnancy if it's one day after, but after that, the woman is just plain fucked (no pun intended).
And let's not forget about the people who are having their vagina's mutilated and their children sold into sex slavery. Dr. Paul wishes that we have no role in helping those people.
Hehe, and you call yourself a Christian! Or, if you aren't, don't fuck me because I guessed your religion incorrectly.
I have attempted in previous arguments to elucidate members of this site on my religious views. I consider myself a Christian, but not in the traditional sense of the term, for Christians and I rarely see eye to eye.
Look at those morals!
My morality is the product of many years of observation, meditation, and philosophy, not quite in that order.
Ron Paul has caused so much momentum because all of his ideas sound good! They really do!
I counted myself amongst the numbers of libertarians long before I had ever heard of Ron Paul.
But, then of course, the age of consent decriminalization must come up.
As may any of the uncountable other issues which may present themselves over one's lifetime.
Who's going to pay for the millions of drug users that will abuse drugs on a daily basis due to their legalization?
This argument is incoherent. What is there for which to pay? Were "drugs" to be legalized, who is to say that the numbers of abusers would go up? A look at Vancouver's safe injection site shows that, in a decriminalized setting, drug users are more likely to get help; sure, that place is publicly funded, but I've little doubt that such places would not come into being through the private sector as well.
If you're sick and have no health insurance, you literally have to go to some sort of church to get help or you're literally fucked.
Not quite literally, but, sure. Not that most people aren't fucked already.
Another incoherent argument. Do try to make yourself more understandable in the future!
What is wrong with a Middle Eastern oil tycoon coming in and purchasing stores in insert town here?
He believes that it's okay to terminate a pregnancy if it's one day after, but after that, the woman is just plain fucked
Could have something to do with the Bible verse which states that the life of the body is in the blood, and that the fetus is not with blood until, I believe, the 17th day.
And let's not forget about the people who are having their vagina's mutilated and their children sold into sex slavery.
Have you ever heard of the concept of clarity? It goes a long way in debate. You should look into it.
None of the government's concern.
You call yourself a religious person?
Attempting to appeal to my sense of religion will not help your case.
And yet you think that it's okay to have sex with girls that are younger than 12.
As may any of the uncountable other issues which may present themselves over one's lifetime.
Ah, a witty remark to hide behind the fact that you simply have no answer to that. Do you believe that the age of consent should be erased?
Incoherent = unclear, incomprehensible
This argument is incoherent.
How? I asked, "Who's going to pay for the millions of drug users?", and you said that that was an incoherent statement. But you're right, drug use does subside when it's decriminalized. I was just playing the devil's advocate. :-)
Not quite literally, but, sure. Not that most people aren't fucked already.
Well, actually, if you're dying, in the U.S. today, a hospital MUST treat you immediately, regardless of your income, insurance, or background. Is it the top of the line care? No.
Not that most people aren't fucked already.
Hey! You watch your mouth!
James 3:9-12
1 Peter 3:10
Ephesians 4:29
Not quite literally, but, sure. Not that most people aren't fucked already.
You don't believe in helping others, regardless of their financial status or what insurance they have?
Philippians 2:4
What your saying is that if someone doesn't have medical insurance, they clearly didn't work for it and are now condemned to seek churches for medical assistance. Hehe, going to a church for medical assistance is like going to a brothel for a nice and meaningful relationship. You just won't get it there.
What is wrong with a Middle Eastern oil tycoon coming in and purchasing stores in insert town here?
Because eventually the oil tycoon its/his/her subsidiaries will literally purchase the U.S. Who's to stop them?
Could have something to do with the Bible verse which states that the life of the body is in the blood, and that the fetus is not with blood until, I believe, the 17th day.
Or, maybe, he has literally no fucking idea about what you just said, and he is completely inconsistent. You pick.
And yet you think that it's okay to have sex with girls that are younger than 12.
I didn't say that. I said that people do.
Do you believe that the age of consent should be erased?
Yes.
How? I asked, "Who's going to pay for the millions of drug users?"
Pay for what? Drug users pay for their own drugs.
Hey! You watch your mouth!
James 3:9-12

I argue that no English word in itself can be found to be the "evil/unwholesome speech" referenced in such verses as above.
You don't believe in helping others, regardless of their financial status or what insurance they have?
I believe in helping others, but the individual must decide to do so for himself. I can't decide for others, nor should the government.
What your saying is that if someone doesn't have medical insurance, they clearly didn't work for it
Maybe they simply didn't desire it?
and are now condemned to seek churches for medical assistance.
Not only churches, but I'm sure many would help.
You just won't get it there.
Depends on the church.
Because eventually the oil tycoon its/his/her subsidiaries will literally purchase the U.S. Who's to stop them?
Who is to say that it ought to be stopped?
he has literally no fucking idea about what you just said, and he is completely inconsistent
Considering that he is a gynecologist, I should imagine he knows more of the issue than either of us. Regardless, I'll stick with what I said earlier for this debate.
I argue that no English word in itself can be found to be the "evil/unwholesome speech" referenced in such verses as above.
Oh, come on. Can't you see that you're just making excuses? Surely you've heard all of the opposition on why your god isn't real. It's sad to see a grown man that still believes in fairy tales based on things his surroundings told him when he was a kid.
Why not Zeus? Or any of the many Hindu gods? Or the big yo-yo up the mountain? Why the Christian god that you happened to have been brought up into?
There are literally so many to choose from!
Religion is an opiate for the masses. It allows for quick and clever rulers to subdue the poor and impoverished with one pleasing thing: if you obey and work your whole life, you'll go to heaven.
It's been hundreds of years and we still have people that believe that they will go to "heaven". It sounds like it was taken out of a children's book!
Considering that he is a gynecologist
Yes, because being a gynecologist makes you well versed in biblical verses.
They should make it so that , under 20 years old, you can have sex, but only with someone within one year of yourself. So that no old men can have their way with kids.
