Ron Paul vs. Obama

If he receives the GOP nomination, will Ron Paul be able to beat Obama?

I've recently registered Republican for the sole purpose of being able to vote for him in the primaries.

Side: Ron Paul

That's great!! That way Obama wins the white house again and probably gets a boost in Congress too. I think you're onto something....

If I am not mistaken, I have just given you my first vote up.

I wouldn't really know, otherwise. --------------------------------------

I'm an extreme libertarian and originally liked Ron Paul; then I realized a few things. He believes that if you're injured and have no medical insurance, you should just try to find some church that will help you.

What?! He's actually so anti-government that he's actually forcing people to go to a church for medical care?! A church? What if that persons beliefs conflict extremely with that church (perhaps they're an Atheist).

Side: Obama

Ron Paul is simply the candidate. In my eyes, there is no other candidate. I will be voting for him in the primaries, and if he is not on the general election ballot, I will not vote because I don't care then because all the candidates are the same including Obama.

Ron Paul is my favorite candidate by far. A lot of people don't know about him and I think that is one of many reasons why he is having trouble gaining more popularity.

As for your debate question, it’s really hard to answer. If he does get the GOP nomination, he will be in more of a spot light and people can then see what he’s all about. But there will also be a heap of rhetoric aimed at him from the other side to try and make him out to be evil.

I find it hard to believe he would get the GOP nomination though, he is a libertarian through and through, but he ran in ’08 to now as republican because he knows as well as most informed citizens that keeping an independent party member from being nominated is the one thing that the two-party system will come together on. So most people in the country (assuming the statistics are true about how little people read the news or get involved in politics) may not know about libertarian Ron Paul, but the current people in office, both Dem and Rep will most likely sleep together before they let him win the GOP.

This is a damn shame if you ask me. I love Ron Paul, and I think he would make a lot of great changes to the way things are done in this country, but I have to face the facts and accept that this country is not for the people by the people, it never really was although it was intended to be through the constitution. It’s for the rich and by the rich, and that’s the way civilizations have been for millennia unfortunately.

Perhaps in his campaign, Ron will bring a lot of attention to himself so that if his more charismatic son Rand runs for president, people will remember the name and support him.

Side: Ron Paul

Ron Paul can actually carry a thought and expand on it. And so it seems that everything is beyond Obamas paygrade.

Unless its written or on a teleprompter....Obama can't communicate.

I would like to see Gingrich and Cain.......in either order.

You'd like to Gingrich who called for illegal co-vert action to be taken agaisnt other countries, and then said; "its ok, its all completely co-vert, and completely deniable"

And Hermain Cain, come on, he barely knew Libya was a country even though his own is currently at war there, how do people like this get into a psoition where they can contest for one of the most pwoerful positions in the world, its truly frightening for outsiders to watch these republican GOP debates.

Do you have any idea how crazy these candidates seem, everyone except Ron Paul seems like an absolute nutcase, he is the only real republican candidate offering anything different, all the others were bought up along time ago, their souls being kept in jars in safe rooms controlled by Goldman Sachs and alike.

One of the only ones!

Unless its written or on a teleprompter....Obama can't communicate.

Or unless he's reading backwards. Praise almighty Lucifer!

I would like to see Gingrich and Cain.......in either order.

I wouldn't. Give me Paul, or Give me Death!

Ron Paul doesn't use a jock strap - he let's the invisible hand of the free market control things down there... ;)

How is that wishful thinking? Obama shouldn't have the presidency even if he were to run with me as VP. He just isn't a good ruler.

Ron Paul is a racist, far right, conspiracy nut. BOTH sides think he's disgusting. Obama would win.

Ron Paul is a racist,

He has repudiated those quotes, for which there is no proof he was the originator.

far right

How "far right" can the guy be? He wants to end the wars and legalize drugs!

conspiracy nut.

I've seen no evidence of this.

BOTH sides think he's disgusting.

Actually, I know democrats who are fond of him, as well as many republicans.

Side: Ron Paul

How "far right" can the guy be? He wants to end the wars and legalize drugs!

He also wants to make it that people who lack insurance must visit a church for medical care and hope for the best.

He thinks the age of consent should be non-existent.

I'm a libertarian as well, but I dislike Dr. Paul for these reasons.

They should make it so that , under 20 years old, you can have sex, but only with someone within one year of yourself. So that no old men can have their way with kids.

Side: Obama

This is now 2015 but Ron Paul could never have beaten Barack Obama because Ron Paul is a radical.
