Iraq was the one who caused the tension between the two countries. Iraq was jealous because Kuwait was more developed than them. Iraq also owed debts to other countries such as US. Iraq was also losing out in trade with other countries since Kuwait occupied most of the land facing the shore. Iraq claimed to own the warbah islands as if they get the islands, they are able to improve their economy through trade. Due to all these, Iraq wanted to invade Kuwait.

What do you mean 'funded'? It was considered a payment for the favour that we had done for you! We had helped to curb a fundamentalist state (i.e. Iran) and averted a religious crisis for the Arab countries in the region.

My country feels that Kuwait is at fault .

Due to the Iraq-Iran War , Iraq faced immense debts from the war and the problems with rebuilding the country . Yet, Kuwait increased its production causing a fall in oil prices . Iraq lost lots of revenue , thus Iraq was upset of Kuwait's actions as thought of it as an ECONOMIC war on Iraq . Leading to the outbreak of war .

Side: Kuwait should be blamed.
