Isn't he the "nice one" in the Bible? He seemed a lot better to deal with than God.

I'm sure you'll have your oppertunity since you're headed for the same destiny

The destiny of eternal torment that was created by the mean one in the Bible: God.

I think you just proved my point.

Do you really take pleasure in the idea that he is going to burn in hell forever? I don't want that to happen to anyone and if I actually believed it was going to happen I wouldn't be making jokes about it.

Perhaps its that deep down you realise that it is just a fairy tale, eh? ;)

And didn't he kill far less people than God? I'd say that's three points for Satan and nada for God.

In the applocation of one's actions some may think so, but Satan is inherently prideful. This is to demonstrate the glory of God, which I find odd, but some verses hint to the creation of wicked vessels that will be used to glorify God. Satan, himself, is depicted as the greatest evil. If you read revelation you will see that he is still in direct disobedience to God and seems to not be willing to apologize or ask for forgiveness.

You are mixing them up. God is the one who created us and gets pissed off whenever He is ignored. What is more prideful than that?

If God is the bad guy and Satan is in direct opposition to Him Satan becomes the good guy.

And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city .. and fire came down from heaven and devoured them .. and the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone .. where the beast and the false prophet are also .. and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever ..... Isn't the god of your mythology the one that destroys the nations of the world? Doesn't Satan just give a guy some boils and kill all his kids or something?

I wouldn't say scholar. I do spend a fair amount of time listening to inter-Christian debates, Christian apologetics, having conversations with Christians, as well as attending various churches. I feel as though I am well informed about Christianity as well as with the Bible, although I don't make a habit of reading it on my own, I prefer to understand how Christians interpret it.

So you admit you have very limited knowledge on your own holy book yet feverently believe all of it and claim that its absolute truth? Have you even read the thing in its entirety? What a hypocrite you are

Side: How Does He Operate?

Well according to the bible (book of job) he can only opperate through god's direct permission. Therfore we can conclude that anything satan is responsible for, god is directly responsible for since logically whatever satan did god had to condone beforehand. Also note that god could snap his fingers in a second and poof no more satan but apparently he doesnt because you sill believe he exists so god must want satan to exist because if he didnt want it, and had the ability to destroy him he wouldnt still be here. so if god wants satan to exist he must want satans actions to occur and therfore is the reason why they continue to happen. So why do you worship this immoral being? Why do you thank him for everything he apparently does good and then refuse to blame him for anything that goes bad? Its a hideous and illogical double standard and a marvelous scapegoat for god. But at the end of the day all of this pittering about beneign details about god and satan are pointless until you actually prove either exist (beyond citing the bible). So how about we start with that hmm?
