If anyone's dumb enough to believe they're buying pieces of the moon, then they deserve to be conned. I could try to sell rooms in the white house to people, but I don't own the white house, so buying a room from me would be meaningless. I suspect when people finally get to the moon it'll be like the land rush again, where people just set up a house and if they survive there for a few years, then they'll legally own it. Side: Legal

If we can sell stars, then why shouldn't we be able to sell the moon? The only difference is that it's closer to our planet. In my opinion, no one deserves the right to say they "own" to moon, but if someone wants to be suckered out of money by someone who claims that he can sell you a piece of public property then that is your problem. The answers given here (legal and illegal) are slightly misleading. I hardly think that what he is doing is actually illegal. It says in the article (and I have heard this previously) that he has gone down all legal means of attaining ownership of the moon, and not a single challange has been made. What he's doing is legal, but it certainly won't be officially recognised by any government. Side: Legal
