Should Brett Favre retire?

He already did. Was it the right move?

He is old. Too old. He's not a very accurate downfield passer and, ironically, has the tendency to just "wing it" downfield. GB doesn't have any top-talent WRs so let's just let the old man rest in peace!

Good riddance. It was fun watching him chuck the ball down the field, but I'm ready for some better quality football. I'm also tired of people thinking that this play was so amazing.

Come on! You have to admit that that play was fairly amazing. A diving underhand flip? Who else completes those?

Too early? Ha! The only thing that made him seem better than marginal last year was the receivers making him look better than he was. If you watch any amount of film you'll see he was just throwing the ball up most of the time and the receivers we going up to get the ball.
I'm glad he went out with the whimper of a playoff loss.

I agree with derecola. Favre was lucky last year to have a great receiving core that saved his butt on many occasions. His gunslinger approach used to work well for him when he was more accurate, but now that he just throws the ball up for grabs it doesn't work quite as well. He should have retired a while ago, and frankly I'm glad that we don't have to hear anymore of this "I think I'm going to retire" stuff from him and going back and forth on whether or not to call it quits, doing interviews on 60 Minutes, SportsCenter, etc. He's worse than Roger Clemens in that respect (at least he didn't get caught taking steroids though).

As much as I love the Packers and Brett Farve, this is a good time for him to say "goodbye". He has had a great football career and ended on a great Last Season.

Honestly, I'm sad to see him retire. Favre had an amazing year in 2007 and I was really pulling for him to take it all of the way to the SuperBowl. It's always hard to say goodbye to a superstar and, in this case, its ashame to see him retire too early.
