Should Child Circumcision for Non Medical reasons be Banned?

If an adult wants to choose to be circumcised I see no problem with that, but to do it to a child without their consent should be a crime. No one should be forcefully mutilated.

-About 117 boys die each year in the United States as a result of being circumcised. [1]

-Circumcised men are 4.5 times more likely to have erectile dysfunction. [2]

-Circumcision has been shown to reduce the transmission of some STDs, so if you don't practice safe sex you might want to consider circumcision. [3]

-Circumcision reduces chances of urinary tract infection by 17.7% in infants less than 3 months old, but frequent diaper changes and cleaning the area thoroughly can do the same thing without causing all the negative things associated with circumcision. [3]

-Anesthesia is not used in a lot of circumcisions, despite the fact that the American Academy of Pediatrics says "There is considerable evidence that newborns who are circumcised without analgesia experience pain and physiologic stress." [4]

If you don't think they feel pain during the procedure, watch this video of a circumcision and you'll hear the blood curdling screams of agony. WARNING, it's VERY disturbing! If you don't have a YouTube account just add "nsfw" to the front of "youtube" in the address.

We shouldn't be forcing these ideals on anyone.

The foreskin can have negative purposes and positive purposes so to remove it before the child can even get a say is leaving them no choice in the matter.

Everyone deserves choices.
