Should / Could HEMA become an Olympic sport?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_European_martial_arts

I am not talking about fencing.
I am talking about getting into a ring, one on one, with mock swords and armour (weighted to act like the historical counterparts) and whacking each other with said swords.

Could a point system be implemented that would fairly declare the winner after a bout? Knocking an opponent out is to dangerous and would take too long.
Would it be accepted by purists. Or would it be deemed "to violent"?

Really no justification why. I just want it to happen. It's fun enough to watch The Battle Of Nations:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c04-L36fGhc. But it would be even better to watch people who have trained for months - even years - for this sport. Combine that with refined rules and you might just get me to watch the Olympics.

Maybe a form of HEMA could be an olympic sport but not the full go. The full contact stuff doesn't fly in the Olympics. Look at boxing or Kendo in the olympics, the gear they have them wear at that level of competition and the type of striking that is allowed. HEMA would have to dial it back a notch, but I would like to see it included in an open forum where it can complete with Kendo on a different feild.

I always liked the Dog Brothers videos of them fighting different styles.
