Should Drug Testing be Legal in Schools?

So first off, drug testing is when they have you pee in a cup and test if you've been taking drugs. There have been court issues where people are saying it violates they're 4th and 5th amendment rights.

No. I think it violates 4th amendment rights(Unregulated Search and Seizures). Pretty much drug testing without legitimate proof.

Without legitimate reason there really shouldn't be drug testing for anyone, with the exception of jobs/careers.

The cost of testing for drugs is pretty high as well, so randomly pulling out a person who neither exhibits signs of being under the influence currently, or has had no previous concerns regarding drug usage, is both frivolous and an invasion of privacy.

In certain scenarios:

1) If it's a private school. Because basically a private school can set whatever criteria it wants as long as it isn't discriminatory.

2) If it is a school for troubled kids. Hey, if they're there to get pulled up by their bootstraps then being clean is part of that.

3) If the parent(s) agree to it. Because hey, until that kid is legally an adult it's up to the parents to say yes or no about it.

Yes of course it should , cops in European countries can stop drivers and do random drug and alcohol tests , athletes are also tested why should schoolkids be any different ?

It's not like they're being humiliated or singled out the rules apply equally to all , if you're clean you've nothing to hide have you ?

Guarantee you one thing , if a kid was given or took drugs on the school premises , the same parents who talk about infringement of rights would be down on the school ,wailing like banshees about how could the school let this happen

Hello D:

Here in the land of the free, cops CAN'T stop anybody at random and drug test them.. Athletes are tested by their governing BODY, NOT the government.

Look.. No wonder your stance on Colin Kaepernik is screwed.. You don't know SHIT about our Constitution.

Have a nice day.

Oh , so they've done away with the implied consent law in the U S ?

How the fuck do you define " land of the free " , bet you won't answer as usual

In actual fact Americans have lost , and are losing so called freedoms as we speak ; maybe you're becoming the land of bound ?

Cops can stop anybody at random and test for alcohol or drugs , where did I say athletes are being tested by the government?

Saying my stance on a scumbag is screwed is typical of a brainless felon like you .

I actually know more about your constitution than you do , no doubt you only learned about in an the big house in an effort to pick it apart so as to become the resident jailbird lawyer .

it should be legal. school is the place for learning, students can test both good and bad. there can be more awareness to the society if the youths know about the drugs rather than closing the eye.

Side: Yes

Uhhhhhh yeah! Because drugs RUIN YOUR LIFE. Ive seen it happen. When you allow this to keep happening, you let kids destroy not only their lives, but others lives as well. #childdealers
