Should Hillary embrace Obama or distance herself?

Should Hillary try to embrace the Obama legacy, or distance herself from him?

She was part of the Obama administration and she wants the same policies he does. It would be very suspicious if she didn't embrace Obama.

Side: Embrace

Indeed. I don't know why she hasn't had him do more events - (I may not know of events that are happening, but I haven't heard of many.) Apparently he went to PA today and did very well. And his approval rating is high.

I don't really like the idea of Obama campaigning for her. So, I am happy with him not doing a bunch of events for her since be still runs the country. I think she has handled that aspect of her campaign properly.

Why wouldn't she embrace someone with higher popularity ratings than EITHER candidate?? Especially when ALL the "right wing conspiracy" crap against him has been openly discounted by most respected right wingers AS crap! (Birther crap, Muslim crap,[and other Trumpisms], secret army crap, take your guns crap, etc.)! Only the dumbest of the "basket cases" still cling to those as "gospel"!

Side: Embrace

It would be politically smart for her to embrace him, since she will be relying on the same support base that got him elected.

Obama, on the other hand, should keep his distance and do very few events for her, seeing as how he is still the sitting president and all that.

GDP at 1.1 percent annual growth rate really Democrat ! The economy is a failure under Obama. No president in the history of the nation has been worst on economic growth than Barack Insane Obama.

Violent Crime is down ? You checked with Chicago ?

Full employment ? You mean adding 151,000 jobs last month is a plus ?

You Democrats are brain dead and can be sold anything !

GDP

GDP is at an all-time record high - about 18.5 trillion.

Best GDP growth generally happens under Dems ref

You checked with Chicago ?

You checked nationally??

Also, the violent crime rate in Chicago is up slightly from the last couple of years, but is still down from the Bush and early Obama years. ref

adding 151,000 jobs last month is a plus ?

Um, yes.

Keep in mind that the number of jobs added per month with full employment will be less, ceteris paribus, than we would expect when below full employment - thus the upward pressure on wages.

If the "do nothing if it helps Obama" Congress would think of the "American people" (a term they LOVE, but ignore), they would have passed the infrastructure bills we sorely needed, then the recovery would have been one of the FASTEST on record! But, alas, they care NOTHING about those American people .... except at voting time!

I think she'll win regardless (unless somehow she goes to jail first, which doesn't appear to be happening). And if she's going to win regardless then she needs to think longer term. Embracing Obama only helps insure gridlock and payback as she tries to pass future laws. Whereas standing on her own at least gives her a fighting chance to forge relationships which can get things done.

Hillary Clinton woke up to bad news: the U.S. economy is slowing.

Just about everyone says the key to her victory in November is a strong economy. She's campaigning on the fact that President Obama dug America out of the worst downturn since the Great Recession, but she's the one to finish the job and ensure everyone benefits.

It just got harder to make that case.

The U.S. economy only grew 1% in the first half of 2016. That's not a contraction, but it's well below the 2.4% growth from last year, let alone the historic average of over 3%.

Even Wall Street was shocked by how bad the report was.

"Today's numbers are a disappointment," wrote Brian Coulton, chief economist at Fitch Ratings. "Growth is clearly not going to reach 2% this year."

So tell me Democrat what you got to say now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think she will blame an intentionally obstructive Congress.
