Should Islam be banned in America?

My answer is no. If my fellow Christians and I want religious liberty, we should allow it for Muslims. I'm not saying I agree with that brand of religion, but banning a religion based on bad deeds, would also mean banning Christians. Now for the record, I AM saying that no religion should be banned, because that smacks of tyranny. If Islam is so wrong, prove it. Christians: Love thy Muslim neighbor, for Jesus has commanded Christians to love, and not hate. Would Jesus spend time with Muslims? Yes, he would. It says somewhere in the Bible, blessed are the peacemakers. Get your own house in order, before being cruel to Muslims.

My answer is no.

My answer is: the very fact you asked this question proves that you are a bigot and a very unintelligent person who has permitted the wingnut American right to draw out the parameters of acceptable thought to you.

If my fellow Christians and I want religious liberty, we should allow it for Muslims.

But that is just obvious. You are insane. Therefore, the other insane people are de facto on your side, whichever space fairy they happen to worship. When you worship space fairies, you cannot be choosy about your allies.

Strawman fallacy. I support religious liberty for all faiths, leftard. I have made my position very clear that all people of faith should enjoy religious liberty. You have been exposed as a liar.

When ANY religion is banned in America, we will no longer BE America. When a religion is REQUIRED in America, we will no longer BE America, we will no longer be a democracy.

I don't often disagree with you Alfie, but I'm going to on this occasion my friend. Religious zealots have seeped into every area of the American infrastructure and rotted it from the inside out. Religion is killing America piece by piece. You cannot be religious and think rationally: that is the problem. You can certainly be intelligent, but you cannot think rationally. It is one of the greatest tragedies of our species that religion has not been publicly declared to be a form of mental illness, because that is precisely what it is. Religion is a type of psychosis which causes a subject to reject the trial and error methodology predicated on rationality and embrace the irrational idea that one can know the outcome before conducting -- or even understanding -- the experiment. It's sheer madness.

I agree with you in principle (if you include Christianity). However I think it is RADICAL religion of ANY kind, that is the problem. There are a lot of good Christians, a lot of good Jews, a lot of good Muslims …. then there are the leaders. The Franklin Grahams, the Ayatollahs, the Warren Jeffs, … sorry I can't think of a Jew radical but I know there are some, (other than Netanyahu)! I believe some people NEED a religion, and yes, that could be called a mental illness, but, humans have their weaknesses. Many humans need a "crutch", and that's okay by me. It the religious radicals (like FromWithin) that will eventually succumb to reality, to the "sheer madness". Millions have been helped by religion, millions have been hurt by religion. I believe that MORE have been hurt, but, it is diminishing. Reality is setting in. Still, there are those who need it. What Jesus is alleged to have been, is not what the loudest of the Christians, today, ARE. We will NOT have world peace as long as we have religious differences or gods.

There is another "experiment" I am more worried about today, democracy, and a religion could kill THAT! It's sheer madness. :-(

No, it shouldn't be banned, but we can use rational immigration and vetting to successfully meld them into our society.
