CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

Nope. If you have male chromosomes, hit the male bathroom. If you are that confused, hit the shrink. This was a public announcement by Brontoraptor Inc...
If someone is a trans boy/girl, they won't feel comfortable anymore using the bathroom they did before. Students should get to choose what bathroom they would feel most comfortable in.
Yeah? I didn't feel comfortable asking the first girl out, doing speeches, dealing with rich businessmen, or fighting in a war. Life didn't give a flying crap. My safe space was getting my ass kicked in a foreign country.
What if... what if... Well that's not the case today and it probably never will be. Bottom line, something should be done to make students feel comfortable at school.
Because there are no safe spaces in the real world. If you have safe spaces your entire childhood, then real life comes as a shock that you aren't ready for.
Bathrooms aren't "safe places." And if they have gender neutral bathrooms at schools, they should also have them out in the real world too so there won't be any "shocks that they aren't ready for."
I'm guessing you plan on paying the expenses for millions of new bathrooms that are literally unneccessary because bathrooms are provided already? I want bathrooms that we pull our horse up into and pee from the saddle. We "should" have them. Cowboys are people too ya know.
First, I've never seen a cowboy ever before and I don't think they consider themselves a different gender. Second, I'm not saying we should let trans males go into the girls bathroom or the other way around. I'm saying that there should be gender neutral bathrooms.
Out of curiosity, are you happy to hand over a significant portion your hard earned money in taxes so your government is able afford to build an additional gender neutral bathroom in every school in the United States? I mean if you are then more power to you I suppose, but if not, then maybe the government should not be paying for it. Because if the government is paying for it, you are all paying for it.
I don't see anything wrong with handed my tax money over to building bathrooms for kids. If it's for the better of the children at school then why not? I can guarantee that the LGBT students will definitely be thankful for this.
It's not about how you feel or think. It's about what you are physically. If you have a penis, congratulations, you get to go in the men's bathroom. If you have a vagina, congratulations as well, you get to go in the women's bathroom. It's not a thing of politics, or feelings. It's simple science.
LGBT students should be segregated in a place where their perversions can be kept to themselves....an Island in the middle of the Pacific would be good.
Claiming to be a different gender to avoid something is not really being trans. It's not a full commitment. Plus, you don't have to be a man anymore to be drafted, sexist. Are you still living in the 1900s?
I'm Assuming that by "you don't have to be a man anymore to be drafted, sexist" you mean that woman can also be drafted in the US but that is not the case. In June 2016 the Senate approved a military policy bill that would require women to join men in registering for the draft. However, that bill was later amended and all mention of Women being required to register was removed before the bill passed. This is a reasonable mistake but as a suggestion, maybe you should avoid laying out claims unless you are certain of them. Especially when you tie that in with an accusation of Sexism.
Also, what about people who identify as "gender fluid"? Meaning a person who does not identify themselves as having a fixed gender. Would they be able to avoid something by switching their gender in your eyes or not?
Okay, Kiwi, you got me there, BUT women can still register for the draft. It's funny to me how society assigns different roles on people based on their gender. I'm not sure they do it AS much today, but I don't really see anything somebody can be able to avoid by switching genders. Again, it should be clearly visible that someone has a full commitment towards being LGBT.
Yes, women CAN register for the draft, however, the point of the draft is to require people to serve. If you are a man and between 18-24 while the draft is in effect you HAVE to serve in the military, hence military conscription. However, if someone says they are a woman then they are not required to serve. And so what they are avoiding is military deployment, probably in a war zone if the draft is in effect. And even if we do it your way and say "it should be clearly visible that someone has a full commitment towards being LGBT." then how do we define that? Simply by clothes? So someone can pull a Corporal Klinger to get out of the army. Or do they need have already gone through the complete change? How would that affect those who are on the waiting list for the necessary opperations or can't even afford them?
