Hmmm, let's see. Having consensual sex? Legal. Exchanging money between two adults? Legal. Doing both at the same time? OMG! This must be prevented at all costs! Bah, there is no rational argument to be made for outlawing it. Doing so ONLY had detrimental effects. It drives it underground so it can't be regulated, which results in increased levels of violence, abuse, disease... It expends law enforcement resources making sure two people aren't having sex and exchanging money at the same time, because you know I'd way rather have a cop doing that than making sure my house isn't getting freaking robbed or the guy working the night shift at the convenience store isn't getting shot. It deprives the government of potential tax revenue. Etc... It's every bit as stupid as prohibition. You can't stop people from having sex. And you can't stop them from exchanging money when they do it. And it's brain dead to pour time and money and effort into trying for no particular reason I can even think of besides some people thinking they don't like the idea of what other people are doing when it doesn't directly effect them in any way. yeah, I can't say it any better than anyone else on this side. But the fact is, even if one is morally against it for some self-righteous reason, its not as if it is going to stop. If we were hit by an asteroid tomorrow and ten people survived, I gaurantee someone would still be selling sex for something so wtf are we even trying for? At least if it's legal it can be regulated and taxed. Side: For

As long the both parties are making a transaction strictly on a voluntary basis, prostitution is a economic transaction for sex. Is that disparaging? Who knows. Prostitution is the oldest profession. It may be exploiting women, but pornography is exploiting women for sex, but it is legal. The difference is indirect porn compared to direct porn. The only reason why it is illegal because the government hasn't figured on to collect on it. Side: For
