Should Schools be closed on Nine Eleven?

President Day, Christmas, Veteran's Day, and Thanksgiving are all times in which the majorityof public schools close on in the USA. Which begs the question, why don'to we take the day off remembering those  >3000 people who lost their lives on that horrible day that would change the course of the USA, as well as the entire world? And better yet, should we?

Many people will become very emotional on this day, thus, they won't be thinking clearly, which can lead to school shootings or bombings.

It's best to just take precautionary measures to avoid such things.

Do you have an evidence of this?

It doesn't need evidence. It's simple cause and effect.

Are we to just wait for it to happen?

I think we should make it a national holiday where we conduct a "purge" of all radicals from society!

There's no correlation between the events of 9/11/2001 and the public and private school systems. For no less reasons we should close every ice cream store.

Yes,if you said there IS a correlation between them, you should close EVERYTHING on American soil!

And schools shouldn't close because it can help schoolchildren learn history, not denying them.

There would be no reason to. The students who would be let out of schools, have no more affiliation to the events of 9/11 than you or me might have to the Spanish inquisition. It's a major terrible event of our past, but it's not affecting the lives of anyone today.

I agree with everything you said except the fact that it is affecting people's lives today. There are people's family members who died on 9/11 during the terrorist event. But that wouldn't usually affect how people would close schools.

Why would we close schools? Closing schools on 9/11 would be letting Al Qaeda win! The point of terrorism is to make people feel scared. Closing schools on 9/11 would be an obvious sign that we're scared, therefore letting terrorists win. When do terrorists win? When the targets are scared.
