Should We Pray To Know The Day Of Jesus' Second Coming?
Important notice: Since atheists do not believe in the existence of God, this topic is irrelevant to them. Please don't participate. And I hope, any atheist that came from a gentle family background will not participate.... this is only for theists, especially that believe the Bible being the Word of God.
"Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates..." (Acts 1:6,7)
Here Jesus states that, we shouldn't know the time of His Second Coming (but to wait with preparation). Still then, if a
Christian prays to know the date of His Second coming, does he/she commits a sin?
Well its already happening tough times are coming ahead and also all of the prophecies have been fulfilled except for the rapture. That's the only thing. Also I heard a prophecy from Ukraine who have a gift of prophecy and they said that tough times are coming ahead for Christians and I believe its going to happen. Persecution is going to start in the US in the future.
No offense again, but who are you to say that he is going to hell for sure. I thought that atheists were asked not to participate in this debate? How can you say that there is a hell when you don't even believe in God?
Well, I haven't read anything in which he said that you will go to hell. He just said that tough times are coming for the Christians and that persecution will start in the US.
For the theists, yes, we do believe in the concept of hell. So don't take that as a joke.
It depends on the meaning of down. Hell or Earth? If you dont believe in God, then you should not believe in the existence of hell though. Cause it hasn't been proven yet. Besides, you said, stay down. Can't it be that you stay here on earth? While we go on some place?
Doesn't really depend on the meaning of down, when clearly in the bible, it says that the demons in hell will rise up on to the Earth, and fight God's army of angels.
This takes up a large chunk of the bible. How could you not know this?
Did I say I was scary? Did I say I was going to kill someone someday? Why make the assumption?
How do you know I am going to go to hell? Your not God are you? Then don't say I am going to go to hell when your not God and God makes that decision not you.
You know you saying that I am going to hell doesn't scare me I don't know why you continue to do it. Its means to me that your doing something totally idiotic and stupid.
All the names you call me is stupid and untrue, but thanks anyway I really apreciate you trying to care for me when all you do is insult me
And telling me that I am going to hell doesn't bother me since I have Jesus Christ who protects me from those evil insults of yours.
80% of the population in the US is religious. Mostly Christian.
Are you saying that us Atheists (The 20%) are going to persecute you? What the actual hell. You have clearly been generalizing/misunderstanding what Atheists really are. We don't want to persecute you, we just want to encourage independent thinking, intelligence and the truth. We want the human race to appreciate Science, so we can advance into the future instead of being stuck in the past with ancient, flawed and harmful ideologies. The "signs" have been happening all the time; they have happened multiple times centuries ago. Most of the world does not suffer famine, wars (such as in Afghanistan) have cooled down. If you think the war in Afghanistan was bad, think about world war I and II, where millions had died. What you are speaking of is prophetic lunacy.
(Remove yourself from such irrational thoughts, we don't want you knowing the truth of our new world order.)
You say that you won't persecute us now but once it starts you guys are going to do that. And its fine if atheists persecute me and other Christians because Jesus said a time will come when persecution will happen to Christians.
You guys will have the chance, just you wait and see.
I don't give a fuck if you feel persecuted. You're a little bitch and you've told me that I will be tortured LONG before I ever thought it would be funny to switch our positions and tell you YOU are going to hell.
Your beliefs are disgusting and horrible and you should be ashamed of yourself for being such a dick to everyone here just for not believing what you believe.
Was I crying? No I wasn't crying and just to let you know I don't care if you persecute me or not do all you want and say all you want because its foolish what your saying to me right now.
No, I won't get off the internet you can't make me get off the internet so there is no point of you even telling that when you can't make me. What you said to get off the internet isn't going to work and why say it in the first place when you can't make me? It makes no sense for you to say that at all and its foolishness.
Ok, well that's fine then we both have different beliefs and I respect that there is no need in getting mad, I just want a friendly conversation your the one getting all grouchy and mad and insulting me like I did something horrible to you which I never did do anything to you.
Speak for yourself man your beliefs are far worse than mine, and another thing you can say all you like about me going to hell because its foolish that your trying to scare me. Your scaring tactics don't work on me so go ahead and say that because its not going to change my mind on my beliefs and its even more foolish and stupid of you to even say that. And it makes me laugh when you say that.
If who you speak of is a true follower of Jesus, then you are calling God's beliefs disgusting and horrible, please watch what you say, there really is God and he is coming back to restore order, hopefully sooner than later.
Read the ten commandments and tell me they are immoral, talk to any genuine Christian and tell me his life screams immoral. Whether you believe in God or not is between you and God, but I assure you he is coming back.
The book was written all at once, not over time. Whoever made up the prophecy, made up that it was fulfilled so the story worked and it was more convincing as truth to the (usually very ignorant) reader. Just like today, Harry Potter had prophecies that were "fullfilled", but its a story and the author had full control over whether it was fulfilled or not. The bible is not based on fact, scientific or historical.
