Yes they should. In fact, everyone should stop "bashing" period and just stick to constructive criticism. Incendiary comments aren't going to improve anything.

Just because 1 or 2 of the more important people of some divisions are corrupt doesn't mean you can make a sweeping statement about the whole religion, it's understandable why people follow the tabloids and complain about an embedded tradition simply because they have nothing better to do in their life

Side: Yes!

of course.

The problem is the nature of a cult deems that the act of simply not believing = bashing. It is the nature of the victimization mentality essential for ensuring the continuation of some "enemy" which is almost universally essential for the propegation of religion.

Hence how a country like the US with over 85% christian population and an even higher representation rate,

can with a straight face each year like clockwork cry about their imagined war on Christmas.

So yeah, one doesn't have to bash any religion. However pointing out facts does tend to put this ilk in a defensive position.

If you hate Christianity so much, why do you keep bringing it up online?

Side: Yes!

Let me just say that there is a major difference between critiquing/discussing, and bashing. Bashing has a directly negative connotation that implies debasing and humiliating the religion and all its participants for... what reason? To fulfill some personal vendetta? That's not how conversations on religion should go.

If you want to make a civil debate out of Christianity and discuss what fallacies you might see in its doctrine, then by all means, have at it.

I wish to echo what other well-minded people have said. Bashing, as a form of senseless derogatory insults should not be a part of any debate. However I don't believe that any belief, religious or otherwise is exempt from logic and critical thinking.

Why should we bash people for bashing us? That's just hypocritical...

Side: Yes!

Christianity is more than the actions of it's Church which have been questionable it is a belief and a way of life. It is a faith simple as that and a harmless one which is based in ethical values and on the simple principle of unconditional love which is beyond critisim. I agree that many Christians do not practice what they preach because they are intolerant of the natural differences of the human race but it is those people who should be critisized not christianity. The belief in unconditional love may be impossible in practice and illogical in nature but it is a worthy goal to strive for despite the ironically infuriating actions of some of it's many followers.

Side: Yes!

Whenever anyone starts criticizing Christianity, it generally is always followed by "well i believe" or "what they believe is stupid". How can you judge Christianity? without, our society would be a heck of a lot worse. I was born into an Anglican family, went to a Catholic school, am dating a Muslim, my two best friends are Buddhists and I'm a Pagan. So what?

I love religion. It is the foundation of everything good that happens in the world. Christianity preaches love and family, with a delightful place called heaven waiting for all the good people, and all the bad people can go to Hell. :)

Just think of how old it is...and how it has evolved. It really is amazing

yes, why attack someone because of their religion its kind of like racism. why don`t you try doin something else with yout life and leave christians alone

Side: Yes!

I think they should because every debate that comes up about religions people want to start with Christianity and not with the others.

Side: Yes!

Yeah, leave them alone. Everyone just needs to stop bashing each other. Y'all need to grow up and get along.

Absolutely... As civilized genre of the society it is recommended that we stop insulting the believes of the few who feel satisfied with the fullness of a religious existence. People should quit fooling with others emotions.

Should christianity stop being criticized for its multiple idealogical flaws? No.

Side: No!

Depends on the definition of "Bashing". No one should form a prejudicial attack on anyone. Yet if they have a dissenting opinion regarding the claimants position, they have a right to express it.

The Church (whatever denomination) as an institution should be intensely scrutinized by believers as much as possible. Non-believers, on the other hands, have gone far out of their way to strike against Christianity. As a faith, no one should bash Christianity, for that is a system of beliefs that stands far beyond human scrutiny. Who can rightfully hate a faith that demands its followers to love those who persecute them? Then again, who can rightfully hate? It is not the faith that should be criticized, but those who lead and propogate it, and their number one critics should be the followers of that faith. The Church should police itself through its followers, but no government should police a Church.

Faith should definitely be scrutinized regardless of the denomination. Belief that is not supported by logic or evidence is fruitless. If believers think that non-believers have no reasoning or ground to stand on, they can and should ask for evidence or reasoning by which they reject said religious belief. The same goes for non-believers in regards to believers. If we, as a society, do not question or criticize, how do we then discover truth?

So.. you are saying, only Christians should answer whether or not people should stop "bashing" Christianity? Doesn't everyone have equal say? Might as well ask Republicans if they think that a purely Republican ideal is a bad thing.

how dare you. You have created a debate then banned everyone with a strong opinion on the side of no, if i had the power i would ban you from your own debate. Dont create a debate if you arent prepared for the extremists on the side opposed to you, simply the fact that people dont believe exactly what u believe doesnt give u the righht to try and slant this debate and ban the people that are supporting the other side. You are the exact example of the people that should not be allowed to lead the christianity movement. You are the person you covers his or her ears and screams blah blah blah to avoid hearing what the other side is saying. Please next time do not give a no answer if you dont want a no answer.

Side: No!

This is a somewhat subjective argument. What you define as "bashing" really defines the whole debate. Also, time and place matter. If you mean in general, than the answer is probably no, because Christianity has some innate inconsistencies and has been responsible for some heinous deeds. If by your question you mean randomly shouting out intentionally provocative points with the sole objective of starting a heated argument, than probably yes.

Side: No!

Oh christjesus, you may ban all you like, but it won't take away that doubt burrowed deep within you, growing every day, stirring about when you are at church or praying, telling you to listen to what you are being told to believe.

STOP BASHING ANY RELIGION. LET AND LET LIVE PEOPLE. Your not always right.

Its ok. In Jesus's time a lot of people beat him, punched him and bruised him because of what He believed in. So Christains today are getting stoned, punched, killed, and beated for what they believe in. So if someone does that to me. I think this is what exaclty what Jesus did to pay for all of the worlds sin and died on the cross and rose from the grave the third day. There was a witness of 500 or more people watched when he rose from the grave.

I do agree that it is okay to bash religion though. .

How is voicing an opinion bashing? It only seems like bashing because it offends the beliefs of Christians.

Shouldn't free speech and First Amendment rights apply both ways? If christians have the right to bash atheists all the time, why shouldn't atheists also have the right to bash christians? As long as there is no Inquisition happening against atheists or Soviet Russia happening against christians, we should both still keep our First Amendment rights.

Side: No!

If what you believe in is obviously fake, I see every reason for a person to bash your beliefs.
