No , the second amendment was clearly written to protect the people from a tyrannical government. The Founding Fathers were adamant that the right of the people to bear arms will not be infringed. When liberals talk about the second amendment being only for a militia they have no clue what that means. Numerous Founding Fathers have stated that the people are the militia and every citizen should own a firearm. One last thing, your God given natural rights do not cease just because technology advances, something obviously lost on liberals who claim it only applies to muskets. Side: No
No. Weapons of war should be banned, oversized magazines, rocket launchers, hand grenades, etc. A good, maybe 5 shot Remington or Winchester, etc., is fine, always has been. Shotguns (other than assault shotguns) are fine ... just like they always were. They should be treated like cars, planes, doctors, pilots, child care personnel ....licensed and qualified ... no problem. THAT is allowed by the Second Amendment also. Side: No
And gun death statistics won’t budge. Handguns. Handguns are the primary illegal weapon of choice. Handguns were used in the most lethal school shooting to date. All weapons are weapons of war when aimed at people. Rather than target legal guns (which are almost never a problem), why not target illegal gun activity, such as straw purchases and other means by which bad people get guns? Why not think a little?
