Watched by whom? Kids? What ages are you speaking of?

What movies? Define horror? Are you talking a Beetlejuice,, or a Saw?

Further......

Who would do the approval?

I am a scientist. We deal with specifics. Fixed and quantifiable values. Ergo..in order for me to submit a useful reply I will need you to more clearly delineate your query.

Thanks.

Its obvious I am talking abt kids underage. Yes movies that cause disturbances. Like saw, such movies can hurt innocent minds. Well as for the ones who are capable enough of making their own decisions are free to do what they want. Take this as an issue of drinking , many countries don't allow at all where as for some it is after a certain age. The parents would do the approval.

Your welcome.

The parents for kids who watch as a mischief, as in they don't tell anyone. The parents should know what type of "horror" movies are watched.

Let the poor kid have experiences .

Your topic is too vague. Whom is the watcher, whom is the approver, even whether or not a movie counts as horror or instead science fiction or thriller or whatever is all debatable.

Regardless, I'm a strong advocate for letting people make their own decisions.

Answers to the same (almost) questions are given above. It sort of does become a necessity for a certain age or the type of movies.

It depends. If the child is not mature enough to accept the movie, he/she shouldn't watch it. It might provoke violent thoughts that could result in the child doing "stupid" things. If an eight-year-old watched a movie like "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre", it might turn them violent and they might start reenacting scenes.

Honestly speaking, horror movies should not be watched by kids unapproved. Not that the parents sit with them all the time during the movie, but the fact that the parents know what movie the child is watching. The problem that arises is that, the kid may be influenced with watching such stuff or suffer panic attacks, which is quite a common tendency in an ordinary human. There are many movies that can change the mind set of many people. In my opinion, horror movies should be approved by parents for kids who are below the tendency of making their own decisions.
