Should members be banned from debates for disagreeing
I'm proud to say I got banned from further comment on my first debate. Yet it seems to me on this site you merely need vote against someone's debate to get banned. It doesn't require actual bad behavior, like cussing, making threats, or pulling dirty tricks. All it takes is for the affirmative to have a fit. How is that debate?
They should be banned when they refuse to discuss the OP and do nothing but whine about how they don't like the framing of the thoughts, and then continuously insult the originator. Sometimes you have to wonder if people smoked pot since they were twelve and never grew up.
A competent debater does not need censorship. Regardless, now I know how you and this site operate, so here is how it is going to be. I will state my argument at least once with the alert I will likely be blocked. So you will still hear from me even though you try to silence me. I will be fair, and polite, though you will accuse me of not being so. I will point out hypocrisy, arrogance, vindictiveness, childishness, contradictions, flaws, sources, and censorship. And eventually you may wish you had acted more like the Saint you portend to be.
Portend is it's own word and refers to giving a sign or omen of things to come. You portend to be a saint who will go to heaven. That is an accurate use of portend.
I claim to be a saint because the Bible says I'm a saint. You said I'm not good enough to be a saint, so the correct word would be in your opinion I am pretending to be a saint. Me claiming to be a saint is not "portending" anything. What is portended is that you are afraid you are not good enough for God, and too proud to admit it. You misused the word "portend" in the context of what you were saying, and you're too proud to admit it.......quit trying to weasel excuses by adding volumes to your thoughts which were not implied when you misused "portend".
I never did care for being grammatically perfect myself. I much prefer wit and wordplay while I uphold strict standards of meaning of words. Your usage of portend implied a lot of things you nowhere came near saying in the context of your post, and it was inappropriate and you can stop trying to cover it up. Just admit it and move on.
Unless you are 2000 years old the Bible does not say you are a saint. Furthermore, the core message of the New Testament is about love and I have yet to read a single word from you ever that hinted at a loving person. If Jesus were walking this earth today it would not be you among his disciples.
You are twisting in contortions trying to deny your misuse of "portend". You threw that in there trying to pretend to be smarter than you really are. You didn't portend anything by doing that, you only made yourself look silly.
No, portend was the word I intended to use, it is a real word, and it was used accurately. Maybe you need to open a dictionary every day and learn one new word?
How can I disagree when you say disagreement is what a debate is? Without disagreement, there is no debate. Hat's off, I concede you are a genius, a gentleman and a scholar, and I would not be the least bit surprised to hear that you are in fact a rocket scientist.
Correct. I was not disputing something you stated, and I am still in full agreement with what you stated. Your brilliance is amazing and I appreciated it.
Don't feel bad, most people get banned from my debates a lot quicker than you did. At least you were able to refrain from using outright profanity when you incessantly insulted me. I tolerated your posts because you were not using vulgarity in your insults, but when you just went on and on and on with the mudslinging, refusing my efforts to get you to discuss the subject, you got hit where the Lord split ya.
Even Pro Logos didn't get banned in that one, as he made constructive comments. That's all I want, constructive comments, not cry babies and foul mouth perverts.
Oh I don't feel bad. I have a long history in this. I debated competitively through three years of high school and four years of college, and have hung around several other debate websites for quite a long time. You and I will work this out. We have much to discuss for years to come. And when I counter your audacity what you dismiss as personal attacks will be seen by all others as just really good counter arguments which you ignore and block. Goodnight.
All you did was insult me. When you act like that, I'm going to ban you, and if you complain about being banned after you deliver a paragraph or two of nothing but insults, I'll say you are a crybaby jerk and need God's mercy to be saved from Hell.

Compare them to your comments and yours were nothing but insults. I tolerated you to allow more than one post only because I thought you might contribute something constructive but all you did was add more complaints and insults. This is what our colleges are producing now? No wonder the world is going bonkers.
Your education does not impress me for two cents, waving it around like a flag you expect me to salute. Just stay on topic and quit with the insults. If you "object" to how I frame my discussions, and you won't participate in response to the OP and only want to go out on wild tangents justifying yourself by insulting me and telling me how great you are in education and experience.. you can expect the boot, son.
Your debate forced everyone who disagreed to do so under the label of "dishonest". You insulted everyone who disagreed before they posted a single word.
If you are proud of yourself, you are being dishonest. Figure it out yourself since you don't have enough manners to listen to the logic by which you can learn the reality of being humbled. You will be humbled against your will or in agreement with your will. If you force God to humble you against your will, it will be when your knees bow in Hell at the sound of the name of Jesus, and your tongue cuts loose away from your control in obedience to God to say to the glory of God the Father that Jesus Christ is Lord.

I"m going to Heaven and you are still in your sins, dying. We do not know if we have even one more day to discuss things as the way you stand now, if you die today, your sins are not forgiven and you are not going to heaven......I make no assumptions about having time in the future to do anything. If I die before I can make another post, I received justice but in God' mercy I have eternal life in the resurrected Savior.
If you want to be sure you can have long conversations with me in the future, you have to be sure your sins are forgiven and you are going to heaven, and my guess is that you are too stinking proud to admit you are a sinner who deserves to die and burn in Hell so you won't know God's mercy.
You say I wave my background like a flag and then you wave you're going to heaven like a flag. The latter is the bigger flag as well as the less credible.
By the way, a "Saint" performs miracles and gets killed for their religious beliefs. You don't get to be a saint simply for insisting you are one. Where is your miracle? Where is your death? And how arrogant it is to give such a label to yourself.
A saint is a person who is owned by God. He paid my price with His blood when He took my place in death. I saw I was a sinner, separated from God by my sin, and in danger of the fire of Hell, believed on Jesus in His resurrection, and cried out to God for His mercy and received Jesus Christ the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY as my Savior, and now by His Holy Spirit He lives in me, making me a new creation for His own names sake, for His own honor and glory. I'm God's property.
A saint is a person set apart by God for Himself, separated from the world by the Holy Spirit.
Where is my miracle? An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign.
Where is my death? Jesus took it for me. When it's time for me to go and be with Him forever, I will go however He leads me. If it's through fire or through flood, that's ok because He bought me with His blood.
For such a testimony like this, real Christians were burn alive and tortured to death in many ways by the Catholic church. Catholics are not Christians. You are on your way to Hell and need to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved before you finalize your death in your sins.
The flag I wave is knowing God's mercy, knowing His love, knowing Him personally when in reality I deserve no opportunity to know Him because I've sinned against Him and deserve to burn in Hell.
Catholics make great Christians if they get saved. There are several formerly devout, formerly highly religious Catholics who got saved and came out of Catholic idolatries and now serve the Lord with joy knowing their sins are forgiven no thanks to the Poop.
A saint is a sinner who is redeemed from the curse of sin and death. The meaning of the word "saint" is set apart one, and God is who does the setting apart, not the sinner. There is no such thing as a good person, only God is good. You seemed schooled in Catholicism, did they not let you read the story of the rich man in Mark chapter 10 who approached Jesus calling Him "Good master"?
Starting in verse 18, "Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth."
Do you think you are a better person than the rich man in this story? Jesus replied to him, "there is none good....". That means you are not good no matter how much you boast of being good. That is why pride is dishonest....you fool yourself into thinking you are good when God says you are gone bad the same as all the rest of us sinners born of Adam. When you try to tell me you are a good person, and Jesus says there is none good, and I say there is none good, who is being the false prophet? You act like you think you can march right into Heaven announcing your arrival and tell God about all the greatness of your life and impress Him? Really? Who do you think you are fooling? Are you a wino?
3) "punk" - I neither look like a punk nor act that way to my family, friends, and co-workers, nor act that way on this debate site.
4) "pumped up with pride" - nope, countering a one topic bully who has declared themself already going to heaven and treats everyone on the site like crap is not being pumped up with pride, it is deflating your pride.
5) "things that are not worth a hill of salt in Heaven" - there is no need for salt or even for food in heaven. If you were already destined to go there you should know this already.
And finally, upon death if I should sit in front of my God and discuss my fate I have no doubt I will be nice and calm and level headed. The love I will have shown in my life will be evident. I have no worries for how God will judge me. You on the other hand will simply demand to be let in, insisting you deserve it and were already promised passage. I'd advise you to be careful when you walk through the gate they open for you because that first step is a doozy.
Jesus paid my price, I'm forgiven, not trying to get God to buy the concept of me being a good person. God won't buy that from you any more than He will buy it from me. You will be cast down in your pride, thinking you are going to tell God how wonderful you are so He should be happy to open the gates of Heaven and bow to you as you enter. You are fooling yourself into believing you are good and worthy of eternal life. We are sinners not worthy of living, let alone being in Heaven. You need to quit listening to the Poop.
Jesus repeatedly put arrogant people who bashed on others in their place. It was a big thing to him. Jesus was unimpressed when the ultra religious tried to scare him with church mandates. Jesus was constantly under pressure to shut up but refused to. That man, that Jesus in the stories, is the ally to me, not to you, not to a troll of the web.
Annnnd there it is. The saint who supposedly wants so badly to teach us about Jesus now mocking anyone else's relationship with him. Because you don't actually care about anyone being saved. You even think we're all lost causes. You are little in God's sight, and when you boast of your pretense (not portending anything) to be good, you are little in my sight as well. From the first time you address posts to me, you acted like a little bully punk, smarty pants accusing me of all kinds of junk and ignoring your own stinking pride. If you do beneficial things for society, and help to calm the waves of crime's rebellion, I appreciate that and I probably would be glad to have you as a neighbor as long as the government is not goading you to help them coral Christians like me who will speak against sin in all forms, in all places, and in all people.

I am on my way to heaven, trusting in the Savior who took my place in death, offered me forgiveness in His resurrection, and now is my life since I received Him as my Savior when I repented of my sin and believed on Him in His resurrection and He came in to me by His Holy Spirit and is now my life. The things of God are spiritually discerned, and you are trying to go in your own strength. As long as you are going in your own strength, you will not understand being humble and will remain in your self-deceptive pride thinking you deserve eternal life when you deserve nothing but death and eternal damnation in Hell as a sinner, the same as me.
I don't find hell scary at all. To hear you and the other Christian troll bullies I've met on other debate sites talk it sounds like heaven is full of just a half dozen internet trolls and maybe millions of aborted babies and everyone else must be in hell. Hey, none of the people you pester on these sites want to follow you to wherever you're going.
Jesus said broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there be that go in thereby...and narrow is the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it.

That equals elevating yourself to prophet. (A false prophet). 2) You claim all you say is in line with God's word (that's your sheep's clothing) yet not a single post from you in any of these threads shows any love, any compassion, nor even an attempt to truly bring others into the Christian fold - instead it's just threats and declaring them lost causes over and over again. I never said I have been accepted into heaven, and I do not label myself a saint. The Bible says I'm a saint, and my sins are forgiven and eternal life is given to me and Heaven is my home.
You don't get weighed and measured to see if you will or will not be accepted into Heaven.....you can never be good to be accepted into heaven because you have gone bad, you are a sinner, and nothing you can do will change that. You are thinking that you or somebody else maybe can earn acceptance into heaven. You can't, it's impossible, nothing you can ever do or say can get you into heaven. You have to be born again, made a new creature in Christ by Him.

The only way to be "in the Christian fold" is to receive the Good Shepherd in person for real as your Savior, and you have to admit you need to be saved sin, death, and Hell because you deserve to die for your sins and burn in Hell forever.
If I tell you that you can be a good person to be a Christian and hope for acceptance in Heaven, I would be lying. It is not loving to tell less than the truth. You declare yourself a lost cause when you say you are good and will not hear the truth that we are all gone bad, none of us are good, and as sinners we all deserve to die NOW and we all deserve to burn in Hell forever with no mercy from God.

I'm not making any threats, I'm only telling the truth according to your own words. I'm not sending anybody out of this world in any way, I'm only telling you where you are going based on your own words in light of God's word.
The first step is impossible for you to cross. There is an impassable gulf between you and God caused by your sin. Try to step over that gap and you will fall into Hell. There is a Savior who took the plunge in death to save you from that gap. You have to receive Him for real, in person by His Holy Spirt, so He can take you across from death into life eternal. You can't get there by your own steps, no matter how well trained and disciplined your steps are. If you could, you would not have to die.
Your word selection did not work as a sentence and mine still did. No definition or grammar rule can back up what you wrote whereas I provided a valid definition.

It's not simply dissagreeing that a person should get banned for. It is outright deception, lies, vulgarity, childish behavior. It's up to the creator's decision what deserves being banned.
If a person bans for no reason, the same will happen to him, so people should be careful.

If you would be honest, you would see that you deserve to burn in Hell for your sins and you know your own sins better than you know other peoples sins, and God knows you better than you know yourself so you would do well to agree with God and admit you deserve no mercy from Him.

You need to meet God now before you meet Him in your offense as a sinner thinking you can stand in your own right to exist outside of Hell. You need to come to terms with God now, His terms, conceding to His right to have you cast away in Hell's fire forever because you are a sinner and have nothing to hold before Him as your right to exist outside of Hell.
I met Him on His terms, received His pardon, and now my sins are all forgiven and I'm on my way to Heaven, no doubt that I am saved, 100 percent absolutely sure that Heaven is my home and I will be with the Lord in His Heaven forever immediately when my time in my sin stricken body is ended, and I will have a new body, and this old body will be resurrected and restored to be like Jesus body, and He bears my scars so my scars are removed in His resurrection.
You met him directly, in person, and he told you all this? No. You read a 2000 year old document, concluded you mastered its instructions, and maybe attended a church or gathering with others sharing your personal strand of belief who then reinforced that it must be right.

You really need to get to a point where you can figure that out. Honestly, the world isn't all out to get you, and it isn't inhabited by a bunch of evil deceivers. That sort of paranoia is not healthy.
In real world debate in law and politics it is not the instigator of the argument who gets to decide validity of response but instead either the listening public, or whole legislature, or an independent judge in the courtroom. Your ban disagreements style is an artificial form of debate which is incomplete, biased, and one sided. And declaring what opponents say is lies is an artificial justification for shutting down further discussion.
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with banning liars. There is no debate when people are lieing because no matter what you say, they simply deny it no matter how true it is.
You can spew the same lies as everyone else how people are banning others for simply dissagreeing. NOT TRUE! In my case, I ban those who are deceptive and refuse to address the actual points of the argument, as well as vulgarity, childishness, etc.
OK. Then next time I will both document my statement with my own evidence as well as say my entire piece at once so if I end up banned it doesn't matter.

I will explain for example when people deny how Democrats support "no limt" abortions in quite a few states, and deny how they themselves support "no limit" abortions when they still vote for Democrats, as being very deceptive.
When I show you how you are being deceptive, or denying the obvious, it will be clear. If you are no longer deceptive you won't get banned. Pretty simple.
See? Right there. In the very first sentence you just said you would ban people for disagreeing. Anything that you have decided is obvious is automatically beyond reproach, for threat of banning.
