Should money not exist?
What do you think the world would be without money? Everything would be free. You could head into McDonald's without your wallet/purse, order a cheeseburger and you don't have to pay. But, do you think it would be fair? What about farmers? They would be giving away free food and yet they don't get paid. Have your say below:

Who'd be against everything being free? Ideally, if money were naturally formed through demand from the people it would be far less dictating on how we do trade, for it would only be used when demanded. That is not how it ended up and it's hardly a chance to try to fix things on the issues of currency. The most we can do now is return to a gold standard, but eliminating standardized currency is a pipe-dream at this point. Maybe some day, when all the other issues have been fixed and the people are finally ready for it. But the current Capitalist system is heavily dependent on printed dollars and inflation. 364 days ago | Side: Everything should be free!

Not free, but I think the current system is about as arbitrary as playing monopoly. I would ideally like a resource based economy or a trade based economy, although trade based could lead to areas with not much natural resources becoming poor. My personal goal is to become self sufficient. To a certain extent. 363 days ago | Side: Everything should be free!

Money is just an effective way of exchanging goods and services. It's better than trading chickens for medicine or whatever, because what if you're sick but the doctor really can't do anything with your dumb chickens. I mean, arguments against money are juvenile. People need incentives to work. Getting rewarded for that work is an incentive. Until machines can do virtually everything humans don't want to do we need money to get them to do stuff. That said, at some point money will be digital I'm sure, carried only on cards. 364 days ago | Side: Continue using money for trade
