Should people be allowed to act different than others?

Yes, people should be allowed to be who they are. If everyone were the same, there would be no variety. People have their own sense of humor and their own way of doing things. They should not be looked down upon for being themselves.

Side: Yes, people can be themselves.

People should stop looking down upon me. I'm unique, just like everybody else ;)

Side: Yes, people can be themselves.

People should always be allowed to act differently than others. How boring it would be if we were all the same. Everyone has unique qualities that are theirs and theirs alone and even though everyone has unique qualities they manifest themselves just a bit differently than someone else's. It fun to see and even more fun to be around.

Side: Yes, people can be themselves.

You Americans seem obsessed over your Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Choice, etc. If you are forced to act exactly like everybody else, than where would those freedoms come in?

Well, I would argue that there has to be some sense of conformity, that a certain, basic way of acting is fixed, or else it can all be viewed in a relativisticly in which right would be wrong, and wrong would be right.

Side: No, everyone must fit it.

From differences stem conflict. Because of unaligned perspectives, anger, dissidence and intolerance rise. Only through unity and self sacrifice can we truly pursue utilitarianism. Differences need to be minimised.
