Should polar bears be protected?

Polar bears are totally dependant on ice bergs.  they are the only large predators that live ON ice bergs.  In the last year, the arctic has lost the amount of ice to cover the state of Colorado, and the sea ice season has been shortened for the bears by up to 3 weeks.  so my answer is yes, for the time being, we should protect polar bears untill we control global warming.  by the way, polar bear are very close to extinction.

I think that polar bears SHOULD be protected because they are totally reliant on icebergs which are now melting so they cannot reach ther food and go for weeks to even months without food and some die of starvation which is a very hard way to die
