Supporters say that that the school hours should bo shorter . because they think that if we stayed mora hours in school , they will not be able to study and to continue . therefore the school hours should be limited and dont take extra time . students say that if the school hours were shorter they will be able to finish their homeworks in home , because they think that the number of students in the classroom and inconvenience prevent them from doing home work properly

Of course. If children are made to spend a lot of time in school their concentration goes down.

the Opponents assume that the school hours should not be shorter . some students agree that staying couble more hours in school will help them to study well , and for better understanding . therefore some school who takes more hours, reveals that the students aim better in study and excellence . and even if the school hours was shorter the students will not be able to understand every subject very well . and their will be cramming in the end .

In Finland, the school hours are much shorter. There, they have a way better education system than we do AND less hw. People are smarter there. There are far more master's degrees there. They are smarter in every way than we are in the US. Other studies show that some needed learning actually comes from a multicomponented life. There are things you can't learn in school.

I would argue for a longer school day and less hw but longer school days don't make students smarter:

Most schools with less hours have better test scores.

In Japan the school hours are much longer than in the United States, and the Japanese invented a robot that can play the trumpet. Boom! Case closed.

yes we know that, but its not the matter of Comparison between countries and better schools. But that we must pay attention to students and their special circumstances and not to neglect they are human beings and they need to rest a little . and may be those students that you said they invented the robot are stressed out because of the long hours they spent in school .

Actually it should be a comparison between countries, or at least different strategies of educating children. If students that spend more than whatever number of hours you are proposing in school do better on a objective evaluation of how much they learn, then school hours need to be made longer. This is of course making all other things equal, strictly looking at hours spent in school. This is allowing that if the kids become geniuses, but half the class commit suicide; then that would probably be too much stress.

The point is that it is more valuable, to the student, their family, and their country at large, for students to be better educated than it is for them to be completely stress-free.

Of course there is a threshold where it's too much, but stress is a good thing. It makes people stronger.

No to America , and Europe , yes to Asia , because school hours in Asia is way too long !

China , Taiwan , Japan or perhaps all Asian countries have long school hours (below)

/ 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (8 hours at least)(elementary schools)

/ 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (9 hours at least)(junior high schools and senior high schools)

also there's something called "evening class" in my school which increases more hours ...

/8 a.m. to 5 p.m. + 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ...

12 hours in total , 11 if we are lucky and you are required to partake it and yes it'll costs you more money , even our teachers complained about it :(

yes, i totally agree with you . alot of school i heard about them takes evening class and extra time in school , and alot of students complain about this, because they are unable to absorb more information. and w edont forget, if we stayed late at school thats means extra allowance, and their is Many families are unable to pay more money. And we must take this into account

I agree with you but in Japan they have less homework. Still, their education system is not as good as Finland's. I agree with you though. Education is great but you cant learn everything in school. Japan overloads its education system.

There would be no teachers then because they would be getting what waitress make.
