I agree with it,because students should be an equal. Students are different, some of them are rich and others are poor students. If you know that rich students will be able to buy a new clothes, but poor students could not buy it. If we have an uniform, people will not divide. They will be an equal between each other and they can enjoy their time.

Yes, I also think like you. If there won't be a uniform, students will wear different clothes and it will lead to the children society's division on social layers.

quite stupid concept, you would have to introduce standardized cellphone, maximum amount of money student can bring in, standardized tablet and laptop, standardized method in transportation,etc... it's not 1900 anymore.

I'm sure that you can spot the difference between student that has uniform and in pockets is iPhone 5 wrapped in notes, waiting for family driver to take him home in their Bentley

and

a student in uniform looking for her food stamp while standing at the bus stop...

If it were all about being made equal, then how far should it go? If for equality, then would it be too much to ask to make everyone think exactly the same? Otherwise, then some people would have an unfair advantage simply because they knew the material better than others. You see, the point trying to be made here is that if equality was a reason to make students wear uniforms, then no one would be different and stand out, so the whole reason for grades would be completely nonsensical. Because each person is subject to their own freedom of speech by the amendments, and as long as it doesn't disturb the classroom environment, then it should not be a problem to wear whatever you wanted.

I agree with that students should wear uniform at schools. I am sure that it is useful for them in many ways. It is also be able to avoid children some problems. The most important benefit would be that emphasizing social status would be destroyed. It is known that most of rich children always try to show others that they are better. Of course, it is not so difficult to notice it by their clothes. It is also connected with contention between girls or boys. That's why school uniform may solve this problem. Additionally, it may establish strict discipline which may provide increasing of quality of education. According to the representative of School Policy and Education Association Sherry Bowen, school uniforms help curb violence, foster a better learning environment and promote discipline in students. This idea was supported by Bill Clinton too. He said "School uniforms are one step that may help break the cycle of violence, truancy and disorder by helping young students understand what really counts is what kind of people they are". It contends that schools should make students wear uniforms.

yes they shoud .. it is a form of uniformity plus it limits abuse in skls frm other students because of how u dress and therfore puts more focus on education in schools rather than wat ur'e wearin

In this modern world perspective about clothing and fashion seem to be overrated and down right unusual. School uniforms can form closure upon school employees and officials to cause safety in school grounds. Although uniforms doesn't help bullying it stops the constant troubles of short shorts and inappropiate clothing. Uniforms can be boring to wear everyday but this isn't about clothing its about academic success which many students aren't taking care of!

[THIS STATEMENT IS 'TO AGREE' ON THE TOPIC. SORRY I PRESSED WRONG BUTTON]

I totally agree with the opinion that students must wear uniform to school. My school has this rule where every Fridays, we wear free clothes, meaning we can freely wear what we want to wear (but there's a limit to the length of jeans and all).

I've been pondering about this topic for many years already. And I can't find the reason to why we should wear daily clothes to school when we have this uniforms?

Uniforms. When we wear them,

(1) we, as students of that specific school, get united as one.

(2) we can reduce wasting time. In other words, students won't have to waste their time every morning or night, thinking what to wear to school. I believe that this kind of thoughts are pointless.

I've experienced it myself. I mean, as I told you all earlier, I wear free clothes to school every Fridays.

Every Friday morning, or the day before Friday, I always have to think what to wear to school. I feel really vain with this.

I can't wear this clothes that I wore last Friday already because friends will say "Oh, same clothes?" again :). Well, I'm not that annoyed by those comments but yes, it does make me think what to wear next Friday. If you know what I'm trying to say.

Furthermore, (it doesn't happen in my school but some do) those so-called gangster groups in the School may bully those kids with unfashionable styles. In Korea, I'm mortified but yes, this kind of events do happen often even though they wear uniforms to school EVERYDAY.

So, considering this fact, I wonder, won't bullying actually occur more when they wear free clothes to school? I mean, those gangs would remark on those 'nerdy' and 'unfashionable' students even more.

(3) We can be economic or thrifty.

The pressure to wear new clothes to school (every Fridays in my case) leads me to buy new clothes whenever possible.

This surely makes my parents to spend their money, just to buy me a new cloth for Friday. I don't like this fact. I don't want it. Those who get pocket moneys would think that it's their money that they would spend but, the origin of that pocket money is from their parents, remember?

And there would be some people who would think that why would I always have to wear new clothes to school every Friday when I can just wear the same one.

For those people, I would like to say that you're right. I do agree on that part. But you know what? My friends don't. That's the reason to why I always try to go to school with my new 'looks'.

Yes it creates some unity between the students, it makes a "class"room a classroom

but i recommend that one day a school can have students wearing any shirt (maybe of their gang or favorites)

students should wear uniform not 'must' it makes everybody feel equally.

should we need uniforms? In my opinion yes we must! If you wear clothes to school, children may compare you with others. And this may happen because of racism and some other reasons may be. You can get bullied by your own friends because of this reason.

Only uniform can discipline us. It makes sure that everyone is equal and no one is unique. As children we should be pretty as flowers isn’t it? And let me ask you a question why do we come to school? Is it to show your colours with your pants or to have studies? And did you notice that our parents pay a lot to school and do they have you here for fashion?

And also by wearing a uniform for 12 hours doesn’t make you at all feel uncomfortable. Am I right?

Here a uniform encourages discipline, help identify intruders in the school, diminish economic and social barriers between students, increase a sense of belonging and school pride and improves attendance. DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS?

Of course schools must make students wear uniform. It is because it makes students concentrate more in studying, not maing themselves pretty.

I concur that students should have to wear uniforms. If students were to wear uniforms, discrimination wouldn't be as easy to develop against people.

Today it is one of banal, in the same time hot topics of debates. I have wore school uniform for eleven years at school. It was normal for me and i have never complained because of it. Firstly the school uniform learn to follow discipline rules. The uniform, in fact, is known to be the epitome of submission, obedience, system and of course, education. by Secondly it makes us uniform ( I mean even and equal) among all students. When we wore school uniforms at early grades, we could feel ourselves with others students as a single group, not just a group, which we could come and leave. But the group of uniform people, without any discriminations on this occasion.

It's not necessary, but it's definitely a LOT more practical. I'm currently studying at a school which uses uniform. And i definitely prefer it. I wake up in the morning, and i don't have to worry what i should wear etc. Everyone will wear the same thing, so whatever.

It's if the uniform is uncomfortable, than we have a problem.

For me it's not necessary to wear school uniform, even they don't need to wear it at all.

The first off all it's not comfortable to wear suit during all school-day long, because pupils are always in the action they play on the breaks they are in movement all the time. They need to be in a comfort conditional to think well.

When I was in school i hated to wear the uniform, because all pupils didn't have choice to show their creativity and talents in some ways. Pupils are the same in this school rules, frames which is always not very good for them.

Having a uniform forces poorer families to buy even more clothes for their child. And then because whatever the uniform is is suddenly a uniform, it causes a raised price on those clothes.

Second, they are often uncomfortable, and bring the idea of robotic conformity among everyone, making it difficult to represent your individuality due to tons of restrictions to what you can wear.

Finally, for those who say that lower class people will be picked on for their "worse clothing", consider the following: There's a reason we have anti bullying programs, people can still pick on you for it with or without uniform, and if school is supposed to be some sandbox where all our kids are safe, how do they know how to deal with these shitty people at an adult age? People don't magically change their social classes once they leave school.

I could care less if someone made fun of my clothes. I wear a regular T-shirt with blue jeans and every now and then a button up shirt. If someone said something bad about my clothes I would simply say. "Go and____". If you are going to cry about someone making fun of your clothes then you sound like you are going to cry if someone doesn't even like you.

People need to just shutup and take it. Life itself isn't nice and people won't be always nice either.

I do not mind if you will go without uniform at school, at work. It is your deal even though if administration of school can let you wear what you want. Child psychologists say that standard of clothing decates a sense of bringing to school. So and it educates to know when we should wear need clothes at need place and at need time. I will glad to see you if your president will give interview in your regular t-shirt and blue jeans. I think in one time you will get it.

I'm not talking about work. That is a different story. The reason why they require uniforms in some schools is because they think the kids are getting bullied by the things they wear. Work is not the subject of this issue.

I can make an essay on why we should NOT have to wear uniforms but to make it short:

1)It takes away our individualism

2)It takes away our freedom of expression

3)Professionalism argument is completely invalid

4)Equity argument is invalid

5)ANYONE can put a school logo on a polo and walk into a school.

Completely against it, kids need to learn that you can’t always have everything you want and someone is always going to have something better then you, at a young age so that they know how to deal with it in the future

i go to a uniform school and it doesn't stop bullying. you'll see the way students wear their uniforms are still up on the chopping board.

ex. he tucks in his shirt and pulls up his pants whatta fag.

not necessary, however i don't completely oppose the idea.

Nevertheless, he looks neatly. He will be able to get used for the future career, when he grows up, he should wear a coat in order to work. However i can't understand your main idea. It does not mean that you are wearing uniform, you will be a fag.

first off not saying if you wear uniform your a fag I'm saying thats the bullying i hear. you may not realize it but theres lots of different ways to wear your uniform. I'm saying there will always naturally be bullies. they will pick on your hair, shoes, or as i said wether you tuck in your shirt or not. you can look neatly and respectable if your wearing a uniform or not. plus i thought the point of a uniform is not to judge a book by its cover so if your saying the uniform makes him look neatly and so he is, that goes against the original reasoning of the uniform. also I'm not against uniforms i just don't think its necessary in every school.

wearing the uniform makes us feel the culture, the style of clothing, it provides us a discipline, attitude, behavior, character and other personal qualities. moreover, rules are made to follow them, so students must wear the uniform.

I'm telling you uniform does the opposite of all this. the people in these uniform schools are teenagers. teenagers are immature. they just rebel and personalize there uniforms as much as they can. this does two things.

1. destroys the purpose of uniforms. everyone wearing the same thing.

2. leads to bullying and insults on the personalization of ones uniform

I don't think that schools should make their students wear uniforms because it limits how the students can express their feelings through fashion, and making students wear uniforms really doesn't reduce bullying.
