Regardless of the utility of the second language, there is significant value in learning a second language. This learning beyond the individuals native language is a significant factor in maintaining neuroplasticity. Children who learn a second language early on are simply more capable of learning later in childhood and adulthood than those who don't, all else being equal. Side: Yes
