What you've written has nothing at all to do with the 27th Amendment otherwise known as "The Variance of Congressional Compensation." This bill was originally brought to the fore by James Madison in 1789 and did not have enough support (3/4 of the States) to pass for ratification. It is also the only one that required no time limit to be ratified by all the states. With Michigan's ratification in 1992, the 27th Amendment was finally added to the Constitution. G.W. Bush gave Congress a 3.9% pay raise for 2009. The 2008 salary for the members of Congress and Senate is $169.300.00 yearly. It's a heck of a lot less than most CEO's (1.6 Million for the CEO of GM) considering the hours and work they put in.

Of course they get money! They get paid just like anyone else who works and like those, they also pay taxes on what they earn. Why do you think there is always a big deal about them divulging their income, income taxes and whatever else needs to be looked at when they're running for higher office?

Yes the 27th amendment was made out of greed,its unfair because so many americans cant vote to get a tax raise and why should we Americans pay for the rising 14 Trillion dollar debt and congress get more money from the amendment.
