If I remember correctly I read that there was a junk yard with billions of dollars of aircraft and tanks that aren't used anymore. If they can just toss that stuff away then there really isn't a need to create more. That money should be going to our own people- towards education, veterans, health care...our infrastructure. Sorry, Mint tea, I have to disagree with you this time. If we relied on those old out-of-date tanks and planes Putin would REALLY run the White House .... if it were to still exist. HE is leaving U.S. behind in modern, high-tech weapons. If we don't "create more", then we may as well surrender and accept Trump as VICE President. (Well, nah, I think when Putin is done with him he will go to that great golf course in the sky.). We MUST spend more, I just think more should come from those who MAKE more. You know, kind of ... recycle our money. If you want a new yacht, build a couple new F-22 or B-2's. Side: It Should Get Less Money
I can't say that we should rely on the wealthy to generate the funds for our defense, that gives them too much power over what is done. I have an issue when no one bats an eye at increasing our defense funds but hisses and pisses (please excuse the crudeness) at diverting funds to help our own. I'm not saying you are doing this, I'm just speaking in general. Our school systems, our veterans, our emergency management funds and the like need an increase more than our defense where we spend billions of dollars on a single battle ship and have more of them then the rest of the world.
