Should the Swastika be redeemed of its Nazi connotations?
The Swastika and some other symbols have been seen as taboo since their use in the nazi regime. The Swastika is used by Neo-Nazi/ white supremacy groups, as well as newer alterations of old symbols such as the 777 triskelion. A recent news story detailed a topshop hoodie design being withdrawn because of a rune on it being used for the SS.
Is it really necessary to continue to demonise these symbols?

The swastika is a positive symbol in many eastern religions. The name swastika is even a positive thing, the name is actually three Sanskrit words su- meaning good, Asti- meaning to be, and Ka-meaning one's soul, so. All together it means well being of the soul. It stands for peace, good will, good luck, and originated in the Bronze Age as a symbol representing the sun thus symbolizing life itself. Side: Yes

I believe it should be redeemed and reclaimed- not because of its positive connotations, but specifically because of its negative connotations- to dilute them into complete obscurity. Adopt it as a logo for kosher foods, or ethnic hair products, even as a gay pride symbol. Let all groups who were oppressed by the nazis use it in their own way. Render that symbol meaningless to any skinhead that would strap it to his arm. Side: Yes

Hitler just used it because it's southern Asian. Hitler though he was Aryan, (Southern Asians). The Swastika is a symbol of Jainism. Hitler made it look bad. If Stalin was to use the cross for his crimes, would people forgive that sign, YES. So why not do it with Buddhism. Plus Buddhism cause more peace than it does hate. Hitler it made them look really bad. Side: Yes
