Putting aside that it's morally reprehensible, it both serves as justification for people to hate us and more importantly it doesn't work. Any testimony or intelligence gathered under that kind of duress is extremely unreliable, despite what Hollywood portrays. If you want information from a prisoner of war, bring cigarettes. Bring a six pack. Something to relax over. Get them to trust you and they'll tell you far more without realizing it. Side: Yes.
If you want information from a prisoner of war, bring cigarettes. Bring a six pack. Something to relax over. Get them to trust you and they'll tell you far more without realizing it. This point just seems contradictory and frankly pretty ignorant. If you're a prisoner of war, being held by what I presume is the enemy, why would you trust them just because they bring you cigarettes and beer? I'm sure soldiers are trained to handle more than that... Side: No.

Torture has its uses. That’s a dark sentence but let me clarify. I know torture can be used to abstract information from terrorists to save lives. The problem however is that men get to choose who to torture and who not to. Men are flawed creatures. We aren’t always right. You can torture 99 men and it can be justified, but if you torture one innocent man, youre condemned. if there’s a hell you will go to it. Because all it takes is wrongfully torturing one innocent person to become the people you hate. Side: Yes.

Depends who is doing the torture. If it was abolished completely ‘ then what’s the worst someone could do to you? Torture keeps you on your toes. It also helps you know who’s good or evil. If abolished, what would the bad guys do? Torture has its place but I’m talking William Wallace type freedoms and not at the expense of our morals. Side: No.
