I'm totally fine with having gender neutral toys, however the idea that boys and girls don't gravitate towards different toys naturally is not based in science. There are social elements to toy choice at later ages (Source 1), however at pre-socialized stages there are already clear sex differences in toy selection (Source 2,3,4,5). "But you’re a girl and don’t understand why you’ll be different or even not allowed to play with dinosaurs, Toy trucks, action games." Any decent parent should allow their child to play with whatever gendered toy they desire. It may seem that toys are grouped to force children to play with toys made for their gender. However, the toys are actually grouped that way because generally children have a preference for toys designed for their gender (Source 2,3,4,5).
