Most criminals should be punished for their actions. Many NON-criminals should be punished for THEIR actions, also. The punishment should not only fit the CRIME, it should also fit the situation AND the evidence. Too many have spent YEARS in jail for something they did not do. Some have been executed.
Our system in the U.S. is not perfect and that should be considered. Being put to death should happen ONLY when there is NO doubt that an extremely heinous crime has been committed. Forgive them? When someone makes a first, obviously unintentional mistake, yes, after they pay a fitting penalty. BUT, that ONE mistake is likely to follow them for life .... not cool. Side: Yes
