Should we take over countries we have liberated?
As the world's greatest superpower, we go around liberating countries of their dictators. Countries such as Lybia and Iraq.
Wouldn't it be better if we then turned these countries into our colonies? That is what the British did. It would also mean that we could ensure that democracy is properly installed into those nations, maybe the could directly elect of governer who represents their nation and assists our government in governing them.
This could really help in world deelopment overall. 3rd world countries can recieve services and have their infrastructure built. Our business at home can expand more easily into these 3rd world nations, making sure that we have global dominance over trade.

"Yeah America isn't going to take over countries and force our culture." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overthrow_of_the_Kingdom_of_Hawaii http://danawilliams2.tripod.com/philippines.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_assimilation_of_Native_Americans "America also won't shoot protestors in our colonies." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ "America won't attack colonies that don't want to be part of America so you are right America will never become as great as Britain." Just becauseyou don't like to remember certain parts of your history, it doesn't mean they didn't happen. Though America may try to present itself as an anti-imperialist 'democratic' nation, they've often attempted to have an empire. The USA has tried many times to take over countries, they just haven't had the success Britain did. Side: Yes

When America has figured out how to look after its own people and learnt how to win a war on its own it can think about expansion but look what happened last time someone tried this WW2 so I dont think its a good idea. Although it would make a change for America to be early to a World War. Side: No
