the affect clothing on a woman has on many men is to wonder what is under it.there is nothing more titillatingly sexual than a "nipple slip".i can masturbate freely over a woman showing some nipple and some breast with just three or four buttons of her blouse undone.if the woman is completely topless i find her breasts oke but not tantalising.i certainly would not be aroused enough to masturbate over her full disclosure.breasts in there naked form come in all shapes and sizes and to any given man in my opinon most would not turn him on once it was the norm to go topless.in fact in general i think there would be a lot less sexual assault if women went totally nude because the element of sexualised dressing would be missing."fuckaware" is more appealing to a mans sexual appetite than the womans nude body itself in my opinion
Of course why not? I don't understand all this " Ooh I am shy of my body I don't want you to see in case you all laugh at the fact that it's different to yours" because in reality people don't! You go to a nudist beech you don't have people being pointed at and mocked, everyone's cool. Which is how it should be :L
Most defiantly NO, and I don't think that any self respecting woman should want to go topless in public. Not because women shouldn't be proud of their body, whatever their body type, but precisely because they should. Women's breast hold so much magic and power, they can nourish a human, they can draw the attention of a roomful of men... watching the Super bowl. This is because each and every time a man sees a woman's breast for the first time (at least) he should be discombobulated just a bit. Myself, I have been with my girlfriend for 3 years and I have to restart any sentence I was in the middle of when I unsuspectedly find her topless. If women went around topless all the time, breast would eventually lose their magic. This would rob women of power and men of wonderment and joy.
I am not speaking of day one of women being allowed to go topless, I agree initially a woman would show courage going topless. Especially because people are very judgmental of women's bodies. I am speaking more of after everyone is used to seeing topless women everywhere. I think there is something great about a woman choosing who she shares her body with, I think over saturation of bare breast would remove the closeness that should be intrinsic with two people sharing something with each other that they don't share with the world at large.

But why should the woman only cover up her breasts for everyone except the one man she likes, but the man can show his abs to everyone?
Why is the woman's body only supposed to be for the pleasure for one man, but the man's body is for every woman?
I didn't say that a man should show his abs to everyone. And women can show their stomachs; the strict physical equivalent to a woman's breast would be a man's pectoral muscles. And I have long advocated the institutionalizing of the manssiere (a male chest covering).
The "magic" women's breast hold is the same taboo cursing has to children. Because it's forbidden getting to do it (or in this case see it) is out of the norm and exciting. If Breasts were seen naturally and their wasn't so much stigma on them, the awe would be taken away, and they'd be another body part again.
Take drinking for example. Americans are not allowed to buy and consume alcohol on their own until 21. So when a party, or chance to drink before that age arises, people jump at the opportunity and they go proverbially nuts over it, often times drinking all they can find to the point of passing out, or dying. Meanwhile in France and other Euro countries, drinking a little bit of alcohol, such as wine with dinner, is so common place teenagers their wouldn't bat an eye at the idea of going to a party just to get 'wasted'.
All of this is reiterating that nothing is special it just depends on the value we give things. If we don't look so highly on breasts they wouldn't be such an unattainable, amazing thing, they'd be another body part like hair, nails, legs, or face etc.
This is my point exactly. I don't see why it is good to turn a woman's breast into just another body part like hair, nails, legs, or face etc. I think it is good to keep a little bit of mystery. Which is more enjoyable watching a magic show where you know step-by-step how each trick is done; or to watch a magic show where, yeah you have an idea of what is going, but how did he do that one bit?
Think of how boring the world would be if we knew all the answers to all the questions.

The way I see it, when these body parts are stigmatized the way they are, they add obstacles to everyday life in the form of sexual harassment, insecurity, rage, lust, I'm sure their is a great list of things I didn't mention and wouldn't need to as you can imagine.

Great argument if I liked to watch magic shows and not know what's going on. Ask Penn and Teller, they say one of the reasons they love watching shows still, is because they know how it's done. I like to know how it's done because it makes me feel better than wondering. Yet my feelings aside, if the secrets of the magic show were causing people harm we'd want to know how the trick was performed. For example if magicians started kidnapping people, claiming they disappeared, the world would not only want to know, but would need to know. This example is relevant because the mystery that is women's nudity is believed y psychologists to be one of the reasons predators attack them. They not only want to feel in control of someone, but they also want to see what she has hidden.
Think of how boring the world would be if we knew all the answers to all the questions.
Boring equals safe. What's wrong with safe? Would you rather walk through a dense jungle not knowing what could live there, (when it could be poisonous everything) or would you rather have the travel guide to this little vacation you're taking with a how to guide on how to avoid the dangerous things?
Women going topless wouldn't do anything to curtail sexual harassment, insecurity (at best only about breast), rage, or lust. The last three are human feelings that can't be changed. H that. And as to the sexual harassment, some people will still be dicks.
You argument about wanting to see what is hidden, while twisted in rapist, (I hope all people don't think like rapist) is a part of human nature. Humans always want to known what is hidden. So if women are topless, the focus of wanting to know will culturally be shifted to genitalia. (also refer to first point). It would necessarily devolve to everybody completely nude all the time and past. It is best to leave it at breast.
This is a bit off topic; but, safe is bad. A completely safe society would be soon be composed of very weak individuals.
(if you want me to read your responses, support or dispute me. Clarify doesn't show in my activity and I won't take notice)

If breasts were a natural phenomenon, that was no longer amazing, there would be no reason to itch, and ache, and stare a woman's chest all day when you could see it everywhere. Obviously sexual harassment wouldn't disappear, but with so much of it being breast related it'd be brought way down.

It's natural to want to know what is hidden. At all times anyone who wants to see breasts also wants to see the rest. It's not like breasts are the only body part people who want to see nude women are focusing on. If breasts become all visible, that will lessen the desire to see nude women entirely because there will be that one half revealed still leaving the other half that was already sought after, to be sought after.

I couldn't agree with you more, look at what's happening to this society that's trying to censor the internet.
I am saying leaving breast as the stop gate to jackasses assaulting women (while not universal, would encompass most) would make it the 'go to' offense. If breast were made to be 'nonchalant', I think the general focus would go to genitalia. And, granted, I'm not a woman, and no sexual assault is forgivable; I think an average woman would rather a guy grab her breast than her crotch.
I thought you were a woman until you mentioned your girlfriend. Anyways, men would not be robbed of wonderment and joy if women went topless... we'd receive it!
No, but seeing my girlfriend everyday isn't the same thing as seeing topless women everywhere you look (believe me).
And the pancake line was a bit from a Mitch Headberg joke, I just through in because I think Mitch was funny and it kinda referred to my point about too much of a good thing.
I was under the impression that we were talking about women going topless in the same places where it is acceptable for men to be. If there were women standing topless in the line at the bank or some other place along those lines, well yeah that would be a little weird.

I like how you said "believe me", as if you've experienced a society full of topless women before. Did you grow up in an African tribe?
Through debating with other people, I had been following the premise 'women's breast should be seen as no different from any other body part e.g. hand, foot ...'
I saw some info related about Korean's history , one of them stated it's illegal for women not to go topless ... but that's few hundred years ago ... and don't ask me where I found it cause it was on the news ...
Chose this side because it will cause more accidents especially car crashes , it's difficult to focus when there are boobs everywhere you know :l ? (no offense)
Of course not! I mean, they should have the option as they have the right to do with their own bodies what they will, but I refuse to sit idly by while a generation of women develop sagging breasts due to their half-baked notions of liberty. Breasts must remain perky!
