Why is it okay for a Buff guy to walk around shirtless on a hot day. I thought this was a democratic country. If it's so democratic then we should give women more rights. If men can do it, why can't women.
There are always reasonable exceptions to things. While I agree with women's rights generally, it's DEFINITELY NOT appropriate for some five year old walking down the street to see a pair of breasts. It's perfectly appropriate to see a guy's chest. A women's breasts are still private parts. A man's chest isn't.
If our Children have to be exposed to Tv shows like Secret Mountain Fort Awesone, Sanjay And Criag, Modern Day Spongebob, Problem Solverz, and Uncle Grandpa then they can handle a little Nudity.
That may be true, but starting with showing breasts in public would probably lead to some people NOT EVER wearing clothing. I mean fifty years later, or however far down the line, you'd get everyone walking into a private school with nothing but shoes. At a fancy dinner party, do you think that people should just show ten year old kids what boobs look like at their first adult dinner. SOUNDS LIKE A STUPID IDEA!!!
Why not? Go to a club or the beach and women are practically doing it already. It doesn't shock me or gross me out. In Europe, women go topless on the beaches. No big deal. We've all seen it before. It's not a big deal.
I think both men and women should be able to go topless - dependent on location.
I don't really like seeing men walk around topless in the middle of the shopping mall, or shopping down town. I wouldnt like to see a woman that way either. But i wouldn't be offended by either. Each to their own.
I do strongly support going topless at the beach/pool.
If every woman was topless men would get almost bored with it, do you see the topless women in Amazonian tribes getting raped the whole time?! And anyway breasts are purely for feeding babies with milk why are they supposedly attractive? They're just lumps of fat. If men can go around topless women should too.it's only "offending to little children" because we've made it like that
Sure why not? Many cultures do it and don't have problems. The reason why people freak out over female breasts is that they are only used to seeing them covered. Normalizing it makes it no big deal.
Whyever not? If someone actually has the courage to do that, they have my support. It's no different to a guy going topless and just what is so sexual about milk dispensers, anyway?
IT IS SEXUAL!!! He's right. You don't understand men. Did I mention that people develop hormones at 10? To do that to a ten year old kid, in a store, would be EXTREMELY inappropriate. What about to a group of kids on a field trip to the fucking zoo?
Apparently topless men are just as distracting to women, source: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20130718145826AASqiMR . Which would mean that women are being discriminated against if they can be arrestes for indecent exposure while a man is not for walking around topless. And yes, from my experience, topless men have been very much distracting. Thankfully, I've got used to seeing half dressed guys and don't see anything wrong with it. Some women admit to being perverts and enjoy looking at men's bodies while others blush and turn away. I'm sure men could aclimatise in the same way.
I'm not saying women should be allowed to go anywhere topless as many places have dress codes that should be abided too. I think it would be improper for anyone to go into a shop or a zoo topless regardless of gender. I'm talking about places medn do go topless: hill walking, to the beach, etcetera.
To do what? Dressing in a certain way is not doing something to someone. More accurately would be 'for a 10 year old kid to see that in a store..'
I'm sure it won't affect them. They'll see breasts and rightly think there's nothing wrong with that, that they're just a non-sexual part of the female body. When I went on holiday to spain, I noticed that quite a few women sunbathed topless. Ten year old kids don't have any sexual urges, especially not the males (who develop slower than females).
The fact is both genders are inequal; however, men do not feed their young through their pectorals, for starters. Both genders are different, but that's not always a bad thing. We are never going to achieve 100% equality on every single thing, since there will always be differences between the two.
So I don't think women should be allowed to walk around topless, even if they wanted to. At the same time there are many places of business and such where men have to wear a shirt, as well, so we men don't exactly have free reign wherever we please either.
Thats disgusting. No means no. Saying that being sexy makes a woman ask to be raped is as vile as you can get. Men need to learn to control themselves and get a sex toy, not rape women.
You are putting responsibility on the victim, and that is not okay. If a woman goes topless, that does not mean that she deserved to be raped.
All that I am saying is that topless women are, to a degree, provoking sexual contact (unwanted/wanted) by not wearing some type of chest garment. I am NOT saying that a topless deserves to be raped.
Here's a similar question: should women be allowed to wear lingerie in public?
I say no because it can (and mostly likely will) provoke sexual contact.
Saying that a victim provokes rape is the same thing as saying he or she deserves it.
Did you even read my argument? I am saying that a topless woman is (whether she knows it or not) provoking sexual contact; not rape.
If they are sexually assaulted while being topless, did they deserve it/are they to blame? NO.
Should they at least acknowledge that being topless in public may have provoked the assault? Yes.
Let's go back to my lingerie example for a moment... if a woman publically wears lingerie, are they possibly provoking/suggesting sexual contact? Yes, why the hell else would you wear lingerie?
Everyone can and should be able to control their "urges". To some people though, it becomes increasingly difficult when you have a topless woman in front of you.
It could increase rape because men will be attracted and that is what attracts men the most. Also nude makes men all hype so what if it is a gorgeous women and a women has only breast and no shirt and a men will be like ''' oh look at her stuff I want that'''' 3 2 1..... the women is like ''' help please stop please please oh ah oooh ah!!'''
Children just get dirty and negative with their minds.
Girls in bra's on only are just making fools of themselves
Men cant control themselves like that. You cant just go up to someone and say '' oh control yourself stop looking at that''' Nope wont work. Men cant control themselves like that. Many out there are very immature when it comes to something gross. For example my friends saw this book and they saw a baby touching his mother's breast. They were the only ones thinking negative. So picture it like this your a women and you have only a bra on. And later on you there and a bunch men start following you home. Later on that man might stalk you cause he might feel a certain way and cant control himself but to see your breast. Later on he goes on his plan. Women with no top equals rape
You'd be surprised. Men rape women by way of date rape, just because the women is too attractive for them. There's no need to take it one step further. Also, in South Africa, only in the primitive tribal parts as opposed to the rich parts, they follow your rule. Guess what, women get raped more in South Africa.
I think that has more to do with South Africa's high crime rates than breasts getting a little air. You know you're arguing against males being recognised as intelligent, capable human beings in control of their faculties, right?
Is date rape not more to do with drunkenness, or the whole thing being planned in the first place?
Women's breasts are far more sexualized entitties than a man's bare chest. The reason women are expected to cover their chest in public is the same reason why men can't walk around exposing their genitals. Public decency rules are built into the code of law to protect the under-aged from being visually abused by sexually explicit material
