Spicy
The Reaper option is the less hot of the two so I'll go with that. In reality I would eat neither. And that's ironic because I'm already growing 18 kinds of pepper in my garden this year, mostly hots, and reaching above Habanero levels. Bahamian Goat, Chombo, Datil, and Murupi Amarella are probably my hottest. I like to make the comparison to black pepper. Very few people are scared of using black pepper because they know they're just going to sprinkle a little bit on. But would they dream of taking a handful of whole black peppercorns and eating them straight? Of course not. That would be disgusting, and very hot. On a Scoville scale it's equivalency is somewhere around 100000 (lower range of Habanero). The idiots who pop whole crazy hot peppers in their mouth should be respected no more than the idiot eating black peppercorns like corn nuts. All they're really showing is their utter lack in class. Meanwhile, being able to take a dangerously hot pepper and break it down into just enough addition to a dish you're cooking to make an amazing flavor is the true evidence of a righteous pepper head. |
