Stand by your country

Would you support  your country whether right or wrong?

I see a country and its government as two distinct concepts.

Whether or not I support a particular government would depend on its policies and ideals. But however bad the government might be, I would still support the welfare of the people of my country; support the study of my country's languages, customs, religions, and history; and support preserving whatever parts of its culture are worth perpetuating.

(I would support the same of any country in the world. But I support my own country a little bit more, I guess for purely sentimental reasons~)

I stand by my country no matter what.

Whether I stand by my government is another thing...

England's gone to hell. But I still stand by it. Or what I hope to see in it. I know it's probably going to get worse by the time I die. Faggots and paedos running free, children running wild with no discipline. Government putting a leash on things that don't matter and fucking up things that do. Price of living up the roof. Everything is slowly getting worse. Nothing I can do. Don't want to move to another country cause England is my and my ancestors country, but WTF! The liberals have really fucked it up.

Your post pretty much describes my country and my thoughts about it. I second it and direct it to Portugal.

Your one fuckin twisted little man, you know that. I have an idea, try to acknowledge that your country is just as fallable as any other then you may begin to realise why its even more fallable than any other.Peace out.

Hey look everybody, it's Garry the dumbfuck again with his usual brand of idiocy! Look dude, no one cares what you have to say... it's obvious that you are just a troll who probably jacks off every time you tell someone to kill themselves... get a grip on something other than your tiny peter for once.

I will stand by my great nation right up until the collapse caused by those who won't and are now imposing policy that is causing that collapse. After the collapse, I will work to rebuild what those on the left have destroyed through their socialist ideology and arrogant behavior.

Side: Yes I would

I will always stand up for my homeland.

If the worst happens, and all comes tumbling down into a morass of socialist fueled chaos and destruction, you can all count on me to personally hunt down and cruelly execute those responsable.

Side: Yes I would

YES! But mainly because it would piss Gary77777 off ; )

The only value that is absolutely 100% American, is an unwillingness to co-operate with tyranny or oppressive systems. My government's loyalty should be to me, not the other way around. When my government is loyal to me, I will be loyal to it. That's the order it happens.

Patriotism should not override morality.

Blindly following authority has resulted in the incidents at guantanamo bay and the holocaust.

The American forfathers did not stand by their country, the rebelled against it; and in their spirit I may one day do the same.

Patriotism should not override morality.

Well, to be fair, this is a country where it's supposedly patriotic to question the government.

The American forfathers did not stand by their country, the rebelled against it; and in their spirit I may one day do the same.

Not alone, I hope~(is joke.)

Yea it is, but some things are still taboo; try questioning why students should stand for the pledge every morning at public schools for instance and you'll receive quite a backlash; especially if you are a student. It was fun being sent to the principle's office for insubordination only to come back with a smile on my face.

hopefully not alone. :)

Although our forEfathers rebelled against their country you gotta take the times in which events happen into consideration. First off, we are not being threatened or taxed for tea etc. This is a different time and every situation is completely different at that. And the only reason we are here right now is because our forefathers fought for a government they believed in and the only reason it is still standing and the only reason it is the strongest and best government in the world is because AMERICANS have stood by there government in good times and bad! That is what has made this country what it is today.

Founding

abolition

suffrage

etc... where was the standing by?

It rather seems this country's qualities which are so acclaimed are a direct result of dissent and opposition to the government.

I was lucky enough to be born here.

I was not a founding father. I have yet to make significant global contributions to entertainment or science. So what if I happened to end up where a bunch of such people live? I should not be proud, but grateful. And I am.

But should our country do wrong, I will stand against it. It has and it will.

I Have and I will.

For the sake of logic, never. What is done by the government of a country is rarely caused by the population within. We see it here in America, even. Those with power have their own affairs, and us working class men and women are just the cattle. The bovine priests, shall I coin them, are the ones whom convince us that we hold any true influence in our government, and they are just as subject to the slaughterhouse of production. I'll see you all in the proverbial freezer aisle come time.

I would stand by loving all as myself, and being forgiving, and love all just like Jesus does who is Lord living in me to save my soul for eternity to live with my Lord laying up treasurer in heaven.

If my country is wrong I will not support their actions. It raises the question, what would they do to their own people if they would wrong those of another country?

I'll tell country is right until it is right. If it's wrong, I wont support that. I'll try my best to correct it! Somehow... The right way! But, leaving your nation's side is just pathetic.

Although I love my homeland (USA as evidenced by my name) i believe that if the country routinely goes against the Christian faith as far as moral things then I ought to through the democratic process change those laws that are evil/wrong. True patriotism is loving your country and fixing its faults. That being said there are certain things that cannot be fixed satisfactorily to attempt to do so through government. E.G. The poor will always be with us to the end of time. The best way to alleviate this can be seen through the principles of Christianity. But this ultimately cannot be permanently solved by man.

What are your views on the separation of church and state?

It appears you would rather America be a theocracy rather then a federal democratic republic.

If so, then wouldn't it be difficult to call yourself a patriot?
