State atheism, Secularism with religious freedom, or Church rule? You decide.
State atheism
Anyone professing a religious belief shall be held to be in treason of the State. All religious symbols will be outlawed and religious instutions dismantled.
Secularism with religious freedom
Religion will not be permitted to influence the body politic of the nation and no law shall be passed nor enforced which favors religion. Religious institutions will be free to establish themselves and to actively recruit followers and to conduct rites of worship as they see fit so long as said rites do not undully impact the State.
Church rule
This nation shall be rules by the law of the New/Old Testament, the Torah, or the Qur'an. God's law shall prevail and only one religion will serve as the voice for all.
I think Secularism with Religious Freedom including the freedom not to be discriminated against for being Atheist/Agnostic or not having a religion etc. I don't think religion has a place in politics it causes far too many problems when it has that kind of power but I do believe people should be allowed to believe and worship or not as the case maybe without judgement or discrimination. 1

I agree, "Church" rule (irrespective of which religion) doesn't work. Human rights seem to go out the window. Scientific progress, however, that's tricky. While European theocracy led to a technological Dark Ages, Middle Eastern and Turkish/Ottoman theocracy lead to a very real technological Golden Age. 1

I like what we have currently in the U.S its secularism with religious freedom however if a law is popular enough its implemented so long as it doesn't interfere with our rights (thos listed in the bill of rights) and would never be turned down because it originated from a popular religon or not. 1
