It's a hard call for me, as I was brought up on sci-fi, but the aesthetics of Steampunk are great fun. Flying goggles, tailcoats, stovepipe hats and plummy language. Huzzah! I'm a little upset that steampunk is moving rapidly into the mainstream, as it's now becoming open to corporate leeches sucking it dry: If Hot Topic started to sell pre-weathered leather corsets, goggles with choice of glass colours and hats in all sizes (for ten and six), I'd stop openly supporting it because I'm funny that way. Chances are, I'll come back to Cyberpunk later, but for now Steampunk has a solid vote from me.

What ever do you mean, corporate leeches? I confess, I'm not quite capable of imagining steampunk aesthetics catching on in the high street, although it would be rather amusing if one were to notice chavs wearing goggles. You goddamn reactionary; don't think you're coming running back to cyberpunk land after the steampunk fad catches on. Hmph. (Also, your link brought me much joy and happiness. <3) 522 days ago
