Stephen Jay Gould: Charlatan Whose Research Cannot Be Trusted?
In his book The Mismeasure of Man, and especially the revised edition, Stephen Jay Gould frequently misinformed his readers, ofttimes lying and typically disregarded mountains of evidence proving his claims wrong. Here is a paper by University of Western Ontario psychologist J. Philippe Rushton outlining many of Gould's deceptive claims.
Is such scientific misconduct grounds to throw all of his research into question? Is he nothing but a charlatan who cannot be trusted, having proven his lack of scientific objectivity and his credulity?
