Study Shows Sex Talks Actually Do Make a Difference Did Your Parents Talk to You About it?

A recent study shows that when parents talk to their kids about sex, as awkward as it may be, their advice is likely to make an impression. Did your parents give you "the talk"?

Sort of, but why should parents talk to their kids about sex when the government can do it for them?

Side: yes

Yeah, the omnipotent and omnipresent government should enrich us with this information. WHY put all that responsibility on parents?

It is not like they had sex in order to reproduce you. I thought babies came from government and were delivered by storks.

Yes, it was effective. However I still fell pregnant on contraception which is why I generally disregard 'studies' like this.

Side: yes

My mother (serious Roman Catholic) handed me a book, "Boy Talk" I think it was called, mind you this was ages after I had discovered what sex was all about. The book was funny though, I showed it to my friends, we had a laugh. My sister was also given a book, her one was a CC issue that basically told them that they were whores if they had pre-marital sex.

Side: No

Not really. I learned it through school and just generally hearing stuff from friends or reading it on the internet.

By the time my parents would have felt I was ready for the sex talk there was nothing else to tell me about.

NO! They are way too shy for it. I just learnt about it from around. I dunno if I'd be comfortable knowing about it from them either.
