THE COMING DAY OF THE LORD

THE COMING DAY OF THE LORD ........ know this first of all .. that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking .. following after their own lusts .. and saying . . . where is the promise of his coming .. for ever since the fathers fell asleep .. all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation .. for when they maintain this .. it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water .. through which the world at that time was destroyed .. being flooded with water .. but by his word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire .. kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men .. but do not let this one fact escape your notice .. beloved .. that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years .. and a thousand years like one day .. the Lord is not slow about his promise .. as some count slowness .. but is patient toward you .. not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance ..... 2 Peter 3:3-9 http://dadmansabode.com/b/22/220305.mp3 <>< .mp3 audio

I keep telling people, I'm already here!

But I need your worship to give me strength.

Just acknowledge me as your true lord and savior and I will give you a free ticket to Six Flags.

I think there will be a day of lord or a day of judgment, because regardless about any religions, this day is fair enough for ultimate justice. You see we are living in broken life where a lot people won't get it.

As our societies plunge deeper and deeper into lust / perverted darkness and chaos ... I believe the day of the Lord (God's judgement) is coming ... the past proves he has done it before ... and so therefore (as God claims) he will do it again for the final time .... the unbelieving and ungodly / mocking rejectors of Jesus will not know what hit them ... the door will be shut and it will be to late for them ....... today is the day for salvation http://www.gty.org/products/Audio-Series/255/The-Battle-for-the-Beginning - The Battle for the beginning

You could be right. And no doubt you will continue to warn us.

I'm not writing this to mock you or the Lord. I just want to point out that

a) these statements came from persecuted prophets trying to justify their new church many years after Christ's death, and they do indeed sound like the type of "you'll be sorry" statements you'd hear from people in that situation. And

b) multiple religious leaders in just the last century have predicted the Christian doomsday and even lead their flocks to suicide or killed them in their haste to have it be right now. And

c) considering the imensity of space beyond the Earth itself it makes it kind of hard to believe absolutely everything everywhere is about to be over simply because the infestation of homo erectus infecting the Earth isn't good or noble enough or doesn't have exactly the right beliefs.

In other words, I respectfully decline to drink your Koolaid. But hey, you're still free to drink up. And maybe you're right. We'll see. But just like Jonestown or Heavens Gate, the odds are most of us will still be living on after your doomsday occurs.

"But just like Jonestown or Heavens Gate" ....... Jim Jones was an atheist ... FYI :)

"the odds are most of us will still be living on after your doomsday occurs" ... lol ... when the dooms day I'm speaking of occurs .... you'll be experiencing the second death ... http://dadmansabode.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=740#p740 ... sorry to say

Jim Jones was not an atheist. http://www.biography.com/people/jim-jones-10367607

And quoting scriptures as the answer after I already argued my first point that those were written by persecuted prophets trying to justify their church and essentially saying "you'll be sorry" is not very convincing.

Nice non sequitur fallacy. Sadly it worked. Believing in God has nothing to do with how crazy it is to believe in the end of the world.

You have every right to believe as you do. As long as you don't require me (or others) to believe as you do, I will fight for your right to do so.

I don't believe as you do and I reserve THAT right. My only problem with religion (ANY religion), is when the believers step outside their chosen belief and try to make laws that others must follow .... or go to hell. Live your way, within your cult and let everyone else live within theirs. Problem is, that rarely happens.

I am an Atheist and I feel I have been as good a person as most "Christians". I have no fear of the "day" you believe is coming, indeed, at my age I am closer to finding out which one of us is correct. I have NO doubts, you may judge me, predict my eternal future, I will not become a hypocrite and turn from what I believe. You have a good life, leave others to theirs.

"You have every right to believe as you do" ........ thank you very much :)

"I feel I have been as good a person as most" ..... sorry, but your "righteousness" is a filthy rag compared the the righteousness God requires of you

"and try to make laws that others must follow" ..... It's called "we the people" and we vote :)

"You have a good life, leave others to theirs" ..... Oh I will / and I do :)

If a "god" required more "righteousness" of me, I would gladly comply.YOU are not a "god" and have no right to tell me my lifestyle is a "filthy rag" when you don't even know me. I was nice to you, and you, in your inbred hatred, showed how un-forgiving hate-filled and misguided Christianity can be! YOU have no right to judge ... by your own religious teachings, yet you do, with angry hate.

Someone said: "Religion causes us to hate those we would normally not hate." Look in the mirror! Do you have ANY reason to hate ME?? You don't even know me! I have some VERY religious friends that would say you are wrong about me even though I don't agree with them on religious matters.

Maybe you should ask forgiveness for YOUR sin, that of not following the "word": "Judge not, lest ye be judged."

Fess up, deadman.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!

One big snooze!!

LOL.

Is what I get when I hear yet another religious wackjob proclaiming that his boy Sonny J or his make believe god--his imaginary friend--are on their way to pay us a visit and cast all of us sinners into the lake of fire. Or whatever the fuck their current twist on this scenario is.

Those dipshits have been saying this for millenia.

Guess what?

They have all been wrong.

Listen.....................

...and learn!

I have a theory:

The vast majority of the religious zealots who claim such nonsense are, at their heart, leading lonely and deeply unsatisfied lives.

Loser.

Who.........ironically, are usually the most spiritually-bereft folks around.

A shame............all that religious mumbo jumbo.

the bible thumping.

the rhetoric.

the empty threats to us sinners.

the quotes from that blood-soaked book of fairy tales they call their bible.

and they are totally bereft of spirituality. Or love for their man.

See? These idiots secretly wish for the world to end.

A world that has pretty much passed them by.

A world where, thanks to guys like me and our sciences, is increasingly filled with people who mock them.

And their silly gods.

Sorry, chumps....

End of the world aint a-comin any time soon!

LOL

And...um..when it DOES come?

You god will have nothing to do with it.

Since, well, you know.....

he doesn't exist and all.

Hope this helps!

And you never learn!

Your god, since he don't exist, ain't gonna come-a-callin'.

Not now.

Not soon.

Never.

Every generation thinks the world is so horribly it simply has to end on their watch; every generation is wrong.

Why should this generation (or the next, or the one after that) be any different?

As one ancient wrote nearly 5,000 years ago:

“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days; there are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end; bribery and corruption are common; children no longer obey their parents; every man wants to write a book and the end of the world is evidently approaching.”

Every generation thinks the world is so horribly it simply has to end on their watch; every generation is wrong. .... I never claimed it would happen in my generation ... although at the pace we are headed toward world wide moral and civic depravity ... I'm thinkn it just might be .... nevertheless my eternal fate is secured in Jesus .... how bout yours ? ... prob just as secured in the opposite direction so sorry to say ... every man wants to write a book and the end of the world is evidently approaching.” ... and indeed the Day Of The Lord will arrive .... God says it will
