They are "inching towards" but will never totally reach the goal, (I hope). I don't use a smart phone, the time I spend on this box is enough ... sometimes too much! When friends and family visit, after a few initial comments and interaction, all heads seem to tilt downward and the lights make their faces glow. They ARE interacting, I guess, but, I think future generations will develop with pointy little fingers (or thumbs), and a crook in the neck, reverting back to the earlier humanoids that had to look for tracks to eat, rather than the more advanced, upright, Homo Sapiens. But then, maybe the next big thing will be "heads-up displays" for domestic society and we can walk around at least LOOKING prideful. Side: True.
Generally true. And I'll take it one step further. Since we have more interactions on line than face to face, and since that allows a degree of security for getting away with saying just about anything, the end result is an escalation in ignorance, extremism, and hostility. Basically, we're evolving into a world of trolls. Side: True.

According to me, this is wrong, it sure has reduced the face to face, standing right next to each other, not using any device to interact kind of interaction between two people, but thanks to technology, now we can share ideas and information to people, we wouldn't have met otherwise. Practically speaking, bypassing all human interaction. would never happen, as we would have to interact for the cause of mating and taking care of offsprings, as replication of the above through technology, how ever advanced, would lead to ill psychological effects, which no human would want. Side: Wait..., what? No!!!
