Teenage Parties (see description)

If a child is at a party where there is illegal activity (underage drinking or alcohol) but they do not take part in this activity, should the child still be punished? (This is assuming that the party has been busted by the cops or that whatever school these children go to has found out.)

Right now, simply being at a party where underage drinking is happening can lead to the same consequences as engaging in underage drinking itself. What do you think?

No, I do not believe the person attending but not partaking should be punished. I understand schools positions on the subject, but I do not believe it teaches the right behavior. The school really want the kids to run away or tell on their friends and at that age it just isn't going to happen!

Punishment is not required for simply being at an underage drinking party. STAYING at such a party, is cause admonishment and warning of the dangers.

Not necessarily, there were many party goers who cooperated with police in the recent Texas incident. The key behavior is compliance when a police officer controlling a situation tells you what to do.

no the child should not be thrown out of the party rather the child should be soothed and advised to stay out of this kind of parties in the future.
