The Democrat's anti-Trimp hysteria has radicalised an unknown number of low lives who will engage in this type of anti-democratic terrorism;- there'll be more such outrages to follow. In a democratic society 'the people' have the opportunity to ''wage revolution'' every 4 years or so at the ballot box,. The Democrat's incitement to hatred and their relentless character assassination of Donald Trump was the sole reason for this individual's act of blatant terrorism. America, but the Democrats in particular must cease their 'death wish', and stop gnawing at the nation's wounds like an injured animal, fall in behind President Trump and help America to get back on it's feet. I cannot emphasize enough that in a democracy we do not decide things by killing our opponents. Bernie Sanders' own statement in response to this crisis set the right tone. With that said, there are many angles to think about this event... 1) What is terrorist at the spur of the moment might be considered revolutionary if later on it ties to a successful revolution. I'm not saying this is actually a revolution. It's clearly not. As we look at this in this moment we can only conclude it is an act of terrorism. 2) We often hear the conservative argument that the public needs guns so it can keep government in check. Whether right or wrong, this guy apparently believed he was using his gun to keep his government in check. It will be interesting to see the political fallout of this particular attack. Your #3 point is interesting in that you framed an armed attack against the right in terms of supposed right wing lunacy. Your wikipedia article says that the Secret Service claimed that that the "volume of threats against Obama was "comparable to that under George W. Bush and Bill Clinton." The last actual attempt on a politician that I recall was Gabby Giffords. I remember the media wishing with all their might that he was a right wing loon, but he just turned out to be a loon. The most recent successful assassination of a president was by a communist. There was some violent talk and imagery put forward against Obama, but it was immediately condemned as dangerous, racist, and un-american. Bush 2 didn't have that kind of media support. Trump doesn't currently have that support. As for right-wingers who love guns I guess I have to say that this attack illustrates that guns don't stop shooters, people stop shooters...with their guns. I voted on the terrorist side, I declared this action has no place in democracy, I affirmed terrorism in point 1, and points 2 and 3 are merely comparative. Actually studies of domestic terrorism in the USA still put the right above the left. But the real story here, which I have told this site repeatedly, is the answer is not right vs left, it's moderate vs extremist. Both the opposite far ends of the political spectrum are where ignorance and violence breed and spread. It's the ordinary average more open minded people in the middle who need to stand up and speak out against extremism coming from either end. I do that by the way. I do it and you hate it. He's neither a terrorist or a revolutionary. He is one of these low end voters who actually believes what they hear from the hateful judgmental Democrats and Liberal media who keep calling Republicans racists, nazi's, deplorable, irredeemable, haters of women, haters of the poor, homophobic, etc. etc. blah blah blah. This nut case is no different than the low end voters who believed all the Leftwing race bating of how the police departments are racists and killing black people for no reason (before the evidence is even given). Then we started having cop assasinations. The Democrat Party has become the most divisive extremist Party in our nation's history. They are all about transforming America to their socialistic European utopia of Big Government control, and to do so they will destroy anyone in their way. Trump is in their crosshairs right now as we see with his decapitations displayed on our public college walls. Intelligent people see through all the bigotry and hate from the Left but we have some crazy people out there who actually believe the judgmental rhetoric and then act on it. If any sane person votes for the Democrat Party next election, it truly shows how indoctrinated so many voters have become to this divisive hate from the Left.
