There's a movement in Vermont that is trying to secede, as well. Although, Vermont is made up of an ultra-liberal seceding group. Texas, known for executing ANYONE convicted of murder no matter what. Vermont, known for letting child rapists off the hook without jail time. Verdict: Vermont is still crazier. Side: Same shit with Vermont

I live in Texas. I like it, but I'm not one of those hard core idiots that wants this. I would move. I just like America more. I actually don't plan on living here much longer anyways. Oh and this will never happen. I don't care what anyone says. Side: im a sane texan shut up

It would take all of a week for Texas to turn into a third world country, but on the good side, maybe they'll be swallowed by Mexico then could sneak into the US for some higher paying jobs. I mean, this is just a thought on how they could run their new government and it's a little out-there, but maybe they could like, vote for who they want to lead them. Then you know, whoever wins the majority would lead them until the next election, and if they don't like them, they could, I don't know, vote them out of office or something... Actually, I think if any state was actually going to secede that Texas would be best positioned to do it. They've got their own power grid, unlike most states who share regionally. They've also got oil and lots of cattle ranching. Economically they might do OK. My only concern would be whether we've got any of our own WMDs stashed in Texas, such as our nukes. Those would have to be moved (although on a practical level everything belonging to the federal U.S. government would have to be moved out of Texas, including all military equipment, so I guess that's not a problem assuming that Texas agrees to giving the feds back their stuff). So given that proviso, I think we should let them secede, and encourage all the neo-conservatives to move there and take the Bush family and FOX news with them so the rest of us can have some peace and sanity and nationalized health care like the rest of the first world has. You mean they haven't seceded yet? I thought they were the tough state. What's it going to take; some pansy ass state like California to secede first? Hell, I ought to start a movement and show them how's it's done. ;) Actually, all California has to do is wait for "the big one" to rip the state away from the main land ;) Side: Do it Texas
