That advertising ofunhealthy food should be banned

If you really think about it, we live in a free market and companies are allowed to sell us their unhealthy foods and are allowed to advertise them to us. Besides, think about all of the people that would lose their jobs if the company didn't advertise. Advertising departments would be shut down, less people would buy, lower workers would be downsized, and eventually the company may fall apart. I think the real responsibility in fast food lies within the American (or world) public. We see the advertisements and we choose to eat that food. Nobody forces you to eat McDonald's.

Agreed. We live have a free market and free speech, and it's people's own choice to eat healthy or unhealthy food. The government can't just keep people from making foolish choices. People have to have freedom to decide for themselves. One thing though: Company's do have to keep people informed about what is in their food; there are already laws about that I believe, and they should definitely stay in effect.

Banning of unhealthy foods will do no good and be ineffective. Advertising needs to be truthful and maybe it should be required that advertisements of unhealthy foods have warnings. Similar to that of smoking and drinking. Because unhealthy food is not as severe as smoking and drinking then maybe advertisements that feature some warning about the ill effects of unhealthy food be given a small incentive of some sort instead of requiring a warning label.

Ideally people should know what is healthy and what isn't. And in the end banning advertisements of unhealthy food will have less an effect on curbing the increase of unhealthy people than properly educating people about the ill effects.

Even though commercial companies exist for profit they should take a socially responsible role and focus their advertisements on the healthier products they create or on research or production that leads to healthier food.

The mis-advertising of any food should be banned.

The girl at starbucks told me that the zuchinni muffin only comes in a mini size because the regular sized muffin exceeds the legal limit of caloric cotent on a food of that size... I don't know if that is true... But zuchinni muffin sounds pretty healhty, and it's not.

In fact most things are bad for you. In fact most of the claims made on food boxes are lies. What're they doing about it?

Suing cherrioes.

Cherrioes claims to reduce cholesterol. Which would make it a drug. So as a sacrificial lamb cherrioes is being scruntinized.

What's wrong with this picture?
