If not for the right, free speech would have died. False. The right hated the presence of free speech in 1930s Germany and it still hates the presence of free speech in 2018 America. When right wingers talk about free speech, they mean only for the people who do not call them out on their fallacies and deliberate misrepresentations of facts. If you yourself were truly in favour of free speech, then you would not need 400 alt accounts with which to bully and harass other users who disagree with your falsehoods. Nor would you need to systematically downvote their posts, or indeed upvote your own. When right wingers talk about free speech what they are actually doing is defending what they see as their right to lie and deceive other people. The left literally blocks conservative speakers on campus and on social media... False. Private companies are permitted to allow or disallow anybody they like from using their platforms. The fact that some of these companies have banned neo-Nazis and white supremacists from their platforms because the hate speech they promote is illegal does not translate to "the left" blocking free speech. Classical liberals were the progressive side, even though they are conservatives in a modern context, and the monarchists were the conservatives trying to CONSERVE the old establishment.
