Should people be allowed to make someone pay the death penalty under any circumstances?

yes circumstances like serial killing or assassination of a political figure they should get the death penalty but if it's a single murder they should just get life in prison.

Not under any circumstance. But i support it. And we need to considerably lubricate the process, so the criminal cant keep dragging the grieving family to court for his annual delay tactics. Appeals, i get, but there's a limit. And there are crimes so horrific... every time a jury puts a killer back on the street, i wonder if they would've voted the same if they lived on the killers block. I wonder how vigorously people would support the life imprisonment of those few really fucked up felons if they were a guard at the prison. The fact that some dude who raped and killed a half-dozen kids and is serving a life sentence might take the life of another inmate or a prison guard (and they do) says it all for me. I also don't like throwing money at the prison system to make sure some guy who forfeited his right-to-life stays a permanent, well-fed, sheltered, clothed, healthy drain on society for the rest of his natural life.
