The End Our Rebublic
Ben Franklin: When people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the rebublic.
Our presidential election of 2012 evidenced this prophecy. Should it happen again in 2016, the dye will have been set into the fabric of our nation and Obama's "fundamental change for America" will have doomed us all to a path toward the darkness of socialism.
Civilisations have come and gone for thousands of years
Gibbons Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire is a classic in this genre and there are some who claim that we are facing the end of the age of democracy, and who can predict what will come next for those who survive the changes....?
Ah yes, not once before 2012 did people ever vote in a way that they believed would directly benefit themselves. This is an entirely new concept that has never occurred before in this country's history and now we are seeing the end days.
Not at all. We insult the generational freeloaders who Benjamin Franklin warned us about. Not the truly needy but those who have made a lifestyle of gaming our system of support for those who actually deserve our help. The lazy, the slothful, the leaches who bottom feed on our generosity directed at those who cannot help themselves. Stop with the distortions. You know perfectly well who they are and the doom that they portend.
I am not making any distortions, and have tried, on MULTIPLE occasions, to get you to provide any sort of figures on what the number of this group is, or how you differentiate between those who are not "the lazy, the slothful, the leaches" vs those who receive any government assistance. I would be more inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt if you were more inclined to provide sufficient evidence of the group you refer to.
Evidence was manifest on the election results of 2012. Here the bottom feeders numbered enough to sway the election. As I said, 2016 will be the final proof that that we are overtaken by greed, if in fact another liberal progressive takes the WH. You would have citation? I say it lies under your nose, if you would but see it.
It isn't a rebuttal, nor is it a counter argument. You have not provided ANY specific claims as to the size of the group you are referencing, and have avoided at every step my requests for you to do so! If this group is so easily seen then I can not understand why you are so incapable of simply providing figures on who this group is that you are talking about. Simply saying 'the guy I didn't like one, so clearly the group is large' is not an indication of the size of the group in question.
So, yet again: Do you have any figures for the size of these "bottom feeders" or not?
You have rejected the cause for Obama's win in 2012. The election where busloads of leeches were transported to poling sites to cast their votes for more Obama bucks and Obama phones and Obama SNAP cards. Live then in your delusions which ignore the reality that has overtaken us. But be thankful that those who can see, have got your back. The End
I have rejected nothing because I have been presented with no evidence of anything! When you can substantiate your claim, I will accept or reject it. Until then, you are simply make unsubstantiated claims!
But for your own sake, you should question why you are having such difficulty providing evidence of that which you claim. It does not bode well for the legitimacy of your views on the matter.
If there is not an codified explicit relationship between government and economics, people will be able to vote money into their pockets. This has been the case in the U.S. for a long time. It is unhealthy for a nations political economy, but the decline is often slow and inconsistent. So, yes it's bad. But no, Obama didn't initiate it. The dye was caste a long time ago. I would argue the flaw was in our founding.
The flaw resides in the hearts of those who have followed our founders. The relentless progressive liberals, who have altered the underpinnings of our constitution. Who have sought "fundamental change for America". These are the enemies of our union.
Do you imagine that without the liberal progressive change to our constitution the senators would have voted for Obamacare, while so many of their state legislatures stood against it? Slowly over decades the liberal progressives are taking our nation from us.
That is pure and utter speculation. Neither you, nor I, have any way of knowing how different the voting trends would be without that change in senatorial electing. But, again, that made no sense as a response to my original post, which was that both Liberals and Conservatives have changed this country from its origins.
And by the way, "taking our nation from us" is downright pathetic. If someone is a fellow citizen in your country, they are not "taking" your country, as it is theirs as well. Do not pretend that just because you disagree with them, that means they are an outsider stealing YOUR country from you. That is incredibly self centered, and I expect better from you based on many of your past posts.
I have presented examples of liberal progressive changes to our Constitution. I have offered logical argument that senators usually do not vote to commit political suicide. You have not refuted, but simply rejected these arguments with nothing to support your claim that nothing is happening.
Liberal progressives are foreign to the principles of limited federal government, which are embodied in our nations constitution. They openly advocate to fundamentally change our nation. I see these facts as much more than simple disagreement. They are against our nation as it was created and they mean to change it.
You yourself are not without logic and not without reason. It is me, who would have expected more of you.
Daver, you aren't actually bothering to read my comments. I never refuted what you claimed because that was never the point of any of my posts. I never claimed that liberals have not done what you have said, I have said that Conservatives have ALSO done so. Can you please try to grasp this? If you look back at ALL of my responses to you, you will see that was all I was saying, over and over. That every political group has fundamentally changed our nation since our inception, as would make sense after over 200 years.
You are incorrect to equate the organized subversion of our founders clear intent, with the ill advised and foolish members of conservative constituencies who have been swayed by liberal ideology to misunderstand the true motives of the liberal progressives.
One is the devious ploting of liberal progressives trying to fundamentally change America, while the other is simple fools who have drank the Kool-Aid, and know not what they do.
So if an ideology closer to yours does it, it is simply "ill advised and foolish", but if an ideology other than yours does it, it is a malicious and "organized subversion"?
There really is no rational conversation to be had with you on this, is there? If one does not agree with you, then they are the enemy and wants to "take your country away".
Convincing yourself that those who do not share your opinions are malicious is the first step towards towards a truly dark and bloody road.
Yay you will be more like Europe. Maybe your incarceration rate will go down and your foreign policy will stop resembling that of a spoilt teenager with too much power. It probably means you will have less money though.
Yay we will be as the fallen empires of Europe. Brought down by socialist dogma. Rendered impotent by our own doing. We, like all those before us will succumb to the false promise of equality in all things. If it not for the independent spirit that bore our nation, we could relinquish all hope today.
The European Union is far from impotent. It is funny when you compare the quality of life in Germany or the Scandinavian countries with that in the USA and you say it is fallen. Sure maybe they aren't as rich and can't invade anywhere they like without repercussions but that isn't really the point of life is it.
Except we are not the "protector of freedom around the world". Some people within this country think that, some don't, but globally we are not considered the "protector of freedom around the world" and our actions have shown that we are not the "protector of freedom around the world". We, like any country, are a protector of our national interests, and, like many other nations throughout history, we like to cloak those interests in grandiose claims.
This idea that America, by nature of being America, is some supernatural nation is unreasonable. And no, that does not make me unpatriotic. I am extremely patriotic, and I love this country. I just love it as an adult, recognizing its faults and flaws as well as its achievements.
