The Establishment of the Modern Alt-Left; Where Did the Radical Left Come From and Why

**I am a centrist, with views that skew both left and right. Please be an adult in this comments section, and don't take jabs at anyone for their political views. Listen to their arguments.

In both a political and social manner, we all can identify members of the alt-right and the alt-left; These factions of the political duality that have separated themselves quite far from the original intent of the Republican and Democratic parties.

The alt-left is typically associated with social groups like Antifa, Social Justice Warriors, the LGBT community, Black Lives Matter, the neo-Feminist movement, and the Body Positivity movement, among others.

Obviously, the general left has existed for quite a long time. But this separated, extremist, liberal faction has seen a huge growth in the last five to seven years. Society has come to a point where it feels like a risk to say anything in public that flies in the face of the alt-left belief system; Their favourite arguments always peaking with "You're a racist", "You're a homophobe", "You're a xenophobe", "You're a fascist", and others, that merely take personal jabs, rather than actually being able to substantiate an argument. Feminism is now but a pale shadow of what it used to be. Rather than wanting equality between the sexes, it has become something centered more around male-hatred, and convincing themselves that they were born into a world where the so-called "male patriarchy" wants to force them into a hole for the entirety of their lives. Now, due to this neo-Feminism that shifted from its original purpose, less than 1 in 5 women in America describe themselves as a feminist, despite 85% of women in America saying that they believe in equality of the sexes.

Now... WHAT EXACTLY WAS IT that caused the radical left to rise up and become so vocal in the last 5-7 years, perpetuating all of these groups, movements, and political viewpoints that fly so heavily in the face of logic and fact?

Hello J:

Just the fact that you use the term Alt-Left shows me that you're not a CENTRIST.. Nonetheless, I'll be happy to answer..

Any time there's a rise in right wingerism, there's a concomitant rise in left wingerism..

Trump thinks Nazis and white supremacists are morally equivalent to those who oppose them.. That's CRAZY right wing shit.. Of COURSE, there's going to be some backlash..

Firstly, your accusation is quite untrue, in fact. There is a very clearly defined separation between the core Democratic party, and their Alt-Left counterpart. The Alt-Left engage in actions that the core Democrats would not agree with. In the exact same vein, core members of the Republican party wouldn't agree with many of the tactics and beliefs of the Alt-Right. The far left and the far right are both outlandish and ridiculous branch-off parties. They must be acknowledged. Otherwise we continue to define the Liberal and Conservative parties as a whole by the actions of those of a specific group within the larger.

Moving on, where and when exactly did the rise in the right-wing occur? You must point me to specific examples. By just claiming that it DID in fact happen, you can't build a legitimate argument on that.

"For every action there is an equal and opposite REaction." If there was not an alt-right movement there would not be an alt-left. Conservatives have always been aggressives, liberals reactives, nothings changed. If conservatives would STOP trying to take away the rights of non-whites, gays, women, non-Christians, those who need health care and can't afford it, those who want an education and can't afford it, and trying to take away protection for this EARTH .... they would not even HEAR of an alt-left. Actually the only place they hear it NOW is the noise within their own heads.

By the way. I was born LONG before August 59, actually my first daughter was born in August 59, and I feel much like Obama did. He would not have changed because he was a "learner" with the intelligence to actually KNOW history ... not have to have it written out for him on his teleprompter.

Wait, are you sure they didn't come from you pointing at everyone who isn't as conservative as you and calling them Liberals? Seems to me the Right is very eager to tell 3/4 of the world they're Left. Heck if you keep defining everybody as the enemy then eventually they are. And as Nazis go on the march then why would it be a surprise that a doppleganger arose against that?
